Can't believe the rating I read here! The first order that came up was chao mian. It was hardly warm and all broken pieces like in picture. It totally looked like leftover. Gross! Next was pad thai, fish and BBQ chicken. Each dish was like premade and served at order. The last one BBQ chicken even came sizzling on an iron dish. But the chicken was nearly warm again. It's a restaurant serving fast-food but pretend to be made as ordered. The price wasn't nice either. My fish of $14.99 was a hardly warm pre fried tilapia. Not tasty at all. When I asked the waiter: did you actually brake the noodles to short pieces before cooking? He said he didn't know about that one and hurried away. The waitress took my whole plate of spoons and forks away (we were using chopsticks). I said can I keep a fork.... PLEASE...She simply didn't hear me as she rushed away, even though I said louder and louder and she was less than two tables away as I finished. I need a knife and a fork to cut my large BBQ chicken into bite size....š
The food was tons of sugar and too sweet too. Learned our lesson again: never go to an Asian restaurant serving mostly American. They then became American Asian restaurants: food covered with heavy sauces, too sweet, bearly cooked vegetables and over cooked meat, lots of thick soup/sauce/oil glaze over food......and for this restaurant, it served warm fast food really. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest Thai food my family, friends and I have ever had⦠for the past 10-15+ years! Shop local!!! Iāll never stop recommending this place. Calling in delicious (!!) healthy take out before or after skiing/hiking on Mt Hood is a must⦠I canāt imagine eating anywhere else in Sandy! Anytime Iām in Portland I take 2-3 containers home to Bend (3 hour drive away) because itās seriously (!!!) that good.
Every person Iāve brought to Thai Home has fallen in love. Such a fun place to bring a few friends, sit outside, and talk about how everything tastes incredible! Fresh, clean, healthy.. Every time I visit I have the best bowl of Yellow Curry Iāve ever had. Ordering anything āmedium spicyā with a Thai tea on the side is divine.
Service has always been incredibly lovely & kitchen is time efficient. I was in Portland & able to visit on March 5th for the first time in 6 months, both workerās were extra kind and friendly as always.. Food was ready right on time, and very affordably priced for the amount & quality of the food.
Curry is just (!) as amazing as I remember it! Thank you as always Thai Home!! Canāt wait to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood Thai food for Americans.
The amount of sugar in the curry was jarring, but if youāre an average American you probably wonāt notice. We also got the laab which was extra sour. Portion size was a little on the small side. Not enough meat for a meal. The salad rolls were good. Also a bit small.
The service was friendly and the place was very clean. Itās a nice little spot with indoor and outdoor seating.
Probably wonāt be back ourselves since we donāt often pass through, but if we did return weād say something about the sugar when ordering.
Again, this may suit most Americans very nicely because they are accustomed to sweet food. So if you are the kind of person whose go-to is orange chicken or general chicken or something sweet like that this might be a good entry point to Thai cuisine so you can begin to broaden your palette to other flavors that will enrich your life.
When youāre ready for more variety and more Thai food check some of my other reviews for guidance. We tend to eat at Thai places often in the US and in Thailand. Some are better...
