Mr. & Mrs. Crab - Sanford — Restaurant in Sanford

Very let down . Been planning on getting there since were both seafood lovers . First off music was very loud and obnoxious , not a good selection for people wanting to relax over a meal and talk to each other. we ordered the boil for two for both of us as i said we like seafood , YES EACH ONE OF US ORDERED THE BOIL FOR 2 we also ordered the crabcakes as well as the lobster soup. First off the soup was served in a to go container , plastic silverware and had absolutely NO FLAVOR ! Also ordered the crab cakes , you would think at that price it would be home made , well it was not and it was very small and didnt know where the crab was cause it all seemed to be nothing but bread crumb . Then our main course came out , and did we feel foolish , paying $57 bucks a person ( i think that was the price) for a few shrimp , a few crawfish , and alot of potatoes , mussels and 4 pieces of corn that in must say look liked its been around all day as the kernals were shriveled up , unlike plump and juicy had they been cooked to order . Then the final straw was my husband ordered a lobster tail with his meal as a add on ($18.95 ) , when our food was brought to the table the waitress thought they forgot the lobster tail because she didnt see it , But after closer examination , realized it was there . BUT IT WAS SO SMALL , 2 BITES AND IT WAS GONE . You would think for {$18.95) they would put the lobster tail on top of the dish to present it proudly, but now we see why they burried it under the food . WE WILL NEVER BE BACK , YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION AND UNFORTUNITLY , YOU FAILED . If i ever spend $165 .00 on dinner for two i dont ever want to eat out of to go containers with plastic silverware . p.s the waitress...

Completely and utterly disappointed. I’ve been coming here since they opened the Sanford location and every time I have ordered everything was amazing. The customer service from the servers and the food is delicious as always. Tonight however was a different story, I am currently 8 months pregnant and was craving seafood (mainly crawfish) and I made my own combo adding mussels as well spice level mild and the mr and mrs crab special for the seasoning. My husband wanted his own bag just a pound of crawfish same seasoning only his is medium in spice. I went to dig in and the spice level for my order was unbearable, I ate one mussel and my mouth was completely on fire and my husbands bag with just the crawfish was mild. They got the seasonings mixed up and I was unable to eat my food. I called and spoke to the manager and she was so rude and didn’t care about anything I had to say about what the kitchen messed up regarding the spices in the bags. She said oh well everything in your order was in the bags so there’s nothing I can do, and rudely hung up the phone. This is not the first time they have gotten my order wrong (spice wise) and I’m not okay with it. I paid for my food for the way that I want it made and somehow they can’t seem to get it right when it’s Togo. This happened last week or the week before as well when I got the same order but just with crawfish. Any other time I have completely enjoyed the experience and the food but as of recent my expectations has been let down tremendously. Definitely will not be ordering food to go anymore and I will be sitting down to ensure that my order is correct from here on out. The best thing today was the Mr. & Mrs. Crab sauce!!! The shrimp was very small and well over cooked! Corn was way over cooked as well and of course at that point no flavor and dried out! I first ordered a 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb blue crab & 1/2 lb of snow crab. The blue crabs were very small, they were about the size of the middle of my hand!! When I saw that I immediately advised them that I didn’t want them because I came a time before and got blue crabs only to get home and they were smaller than baby crabs and empty! So I spoke with the manager Johnny which was very nice and he changed it for me from blue crab to snow crab. He tried to tell me that they are the size they are because it’s not the season for them but I had to correct him because I’ve been eating blue crabs all my life so I know the season and right now is the season for them. He went on to tell me that they get them local and sometimes have to go to Georgia to get them, well they are blue crab sellers right in Sanford and right now 1 blue crab is the size of both of an adult man hands put together!! So what Mr. & Mrs. Crabs does is pay for extra small crabs and then sell them high to the customers for way too much money!! Anyhoo, I also noticed when they replaced the blue crab for the extra snow crab the one they added was way fresher and better cooked than the others that I had in my order.
