I am sure that authentic poké would require scenery outside of a strip mall. Proximity to ocean, sand, and the shade of a palm tree or two would also work well as natural flavor enhancers. But this is Central Florida, where oceans of asphalt and the shade of passing thunderstorms will have to suffice. Kona Poké is good. It's easy. It's highly customizable. And it's fast. If you're worried about coronavirus exposure, you can be in and out within 5 minutes of starting your order. Not fast enough? Order online and just walk in, pick it up, and leave. The standard bowls are delicious, and my personal favorite is the Kona Fire, substituting salmon for tuna.
I eat here at least once a week, and while it's not Hawaii, and I'm not debating on another surfing run, it's good enough to make me feel like I'm treating myself to something special, and for a weekday lunch during the pandemic, that's all I ask of any meal.
