My wife and I went to this restaurant on a Thursday nght at around 8:05 pm and there were two employees working, one was cleaning the tables and putting chairs on top of them (employee A). The other employee (B), who was not friendly at all, took my order which was a small meatball sub and a medium new york steamer. (B) asked me if I wanted pickle on the side and I told him , yes. I also told him we were going to dine in and he immediately said that the dining area was closed? I told him that I thought the restaurant closed at 9pm and he said yes but that the dinng area closes at 7:30 pm? (B) made both my subs and we left. When I arrived home we had no pickle and my steamer had only only one type of meat on it with little or no no mayo on it. The steamer comes with corned beef brisket & pastrami, melted provolone, mayo, deli mustard, & Italian dressing with a dill pickle spear served on the side. I have been to Firehouse subs in other areas and never had any issues until now. I immediately got in may truck and back to the restaurant to get my money back. I arrived back at the restautrant at around 8:47 pm and the lights were off and the doors locked? I knocked on the door and (A) opened the door and I told him I wanted my money back and why. I expresssed my disappointment and he went on on to give me my refund. when I asked him for his manager's name he told me (B) was the manager who was in the back of the restaurant all this time and never had the balls to come out and see what my concern was or to fix my sub but did come out to say if I didn't like the sub to go to another restaurant. I told him he had no social skills and did not need to be working with people. I filed a complaint through the firehouse website and as of today I have received no calls or response from anyone. I will not go back to this...
Read moreStopped in for lunch. One lady ahead of us. One employee told the other that Grub Hub was on the phone but she didn't know how to handle the order. 2nd employee picked up the phone and hung it up. Place order. We don't have ice....we don't have pickles. Which pickles magically appeared when another employee started taking the orders...?? Daughter never got ice BTW. There's a box in front of the cash register on the floor. A family comes in behind us and their son trips over the box hitting the floor. Luckily he didn't land flat on his face. Employee never asked if the kid was ok or moved the box. (About 10 minutes later he did) They don't put a sign about the ice instead choosing to get irritated when people ask for it. Not sure why they didn't get the ice out of the back with each order which makes sense to me. But I digress. About 15 minutes goes by. We finally get our food. Mine is completely incorrect. Take it to ask for replacement. And wait. And wait. And wait some more. Meanwhile a grub hub guy comes in...the employee tells him 1 hour minimum on any orders and sends him away.. More customers come in. They are told to leave or that they must wait at least 20 minutes BEFORE they will even take their orders. Mind you there's maybe 8 people or so in the store. I use the ladies room. To say it needed attention is a gross understatement. Gross is the appropriate word. After serving the other 6 people that ordered behind me I got my replacement sandwich. Super disappointed in our entire experience. We...
Read moreFirehouse Dubs in Sanford is definitely worth a visit if you’re craving hearty, flavorful subs. I recently stopped by and tried the steak and cheese, while my girlfriend went for the Hooking Ladder. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious, each packed with bold flavors that made every bite satisfying.
My steak and cheese was a perfect balance of tender, juicy steak, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. The bread was soft yet sturdy, holding everything together without getting soggy. The steak was cooked just right, and the seasoning gave it a great depth of flavor without overpowering the other ingredients. It’s clear that they use high-quality ingredients, and everything is made fresh.
My girlfriend’s Hooking Ladder was equally impressive. It featured a great combination of flavors with perfectly cooked meat, fresh veggies, and a tangy sauce that added just the right kick. The bread, like my sandwich, was fresh and held up well against the generous portion of fillings.
What stood out the most was the overall experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a cozy, laid-back vibe that made it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Whether you’re eating in or taking your subs to go, Firehouse Dubs delivers great food with plenty of flavor.
If you’re in the Sanford area and looking for a sub place that doesn’t disappoint, Firehouse Dubs is definitely worth checking out. The generous portions and quality ingredients will leave you...
