We were looking for something different and fresh/healthy for dinner and we were in the area. Google maps pointed out this spot to us and as soon as you say “falaffel”, my wife’s on board.
The basic idea is just like Fresh Kitchen. Pick a protein from meats or falafel, pick your sides/adds and your sauce and toppings. Build it your way every time. Mix it up and try different each time.
We each got something different because we like to taste everything. I had the lamb, like gyro meat and it was really good. Crispy on the edges, succulent inside. Toss on some slivered onions and tzatziki sauce and it’s a slice of heaven. I’m a gyro nut and this meat was amazing. I’d take it over all of the “diner gyros” in this area. She had the falafels, big surprise. They were the lightest falafel she’s ever had. Crispy shell and tender and light inside. Dipped in the hummus to add a creamy element and it’s just delightful. Mom had the chicken and was super happy. Great flavor and spicing. She’s a no-sauce type but for me it was best when dipped in the garlic sauce. Each platter came with 3 sides and overall it’s a lot of food. None of us were able to finish it all and take-home boxes were needed.
The place is clean, open and well lit. Staff was friendly and engaging and very helpful and kind enough to explain everything to us, some of it twice LOL. Very generous with sauces and things for us to try
We’re back in this area on Tuesday and I guarantee we’ll be back here again. We just found our new favorite spot when we’re here. Can’t wait to try...
Read moreStopped by mid to late Sat afternoon. Unusual that all screens/monitors were off, so we had to use our phones to figure out what the menu was. Even though we ordered to eat in, was given (small) take out container. (Edit: after writing review - pictures from previous reviews show the big or standard take out container. My party received a small, but deeper, half size container. Definitely a cost cutting measure or unfortunate side effect of underpaying workers.) Portion sizes aren't great for the cost. Lamb was very dry and likely was given leftover cuts. Very bad first experience. Doesn't stop there however! After paying, found drink dispenser did not have ice AND dispenser was warm drinks only - cashier tried to offer ice but did not want to make multiple trips for my meal, so I declined. And finally, as we were sitting down to eat, more customers came in - they finally turn on the screens and started serving customers with plates.
Not sure why the difference in treatment (workers did ask me if eating in store or to go), but it did look like portion sizes were similarly small (even with a plate), unless you complained (which is what did also happen to the other group.)
If corporate is reading this (unlikely), 3/5 stars is generous, unlike portion sizes, freshness of lamb, and the initial impressions as 1st...
