During my recent weekend getaway in Santa Barbara, I was on the hunt for a local downtown spot to enjoy some good food and drinks. After browsing through online reviews, I decided to check out the Riviera Bar, and I’m so glad I did!
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. I had a few special requests for my drinks, and they were more than accommodating, crafting delicious concoctions that perfectly suited my tastes.
Although I only sampled the appetizers, they were nothing short of fantastic. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and it was clear that a lot of care went into their preparation. The experience was made even better by the friendly folks at the next table, who were also enjoying their evening. We ended up having a great conversation and shared a few laughs, adding to the overall warmth of the place.

Read moreIt was the first time I ever set foot in the door. The manager Jim met me at the door to tell me that I was not welcome in their establishment. Because I had been 86ed from the former “Paradise Cafe” over 10 years ago for supposedly have done something wrong. However, I had drinks at the bar with Randy Rowse , one week before he sold the “Paradise Cafe “ to the the Lark group. I had been a client of the “ Paradise Cafe” since 1983 . Plus, I continued to frequent the new establishment after the change in ownership. Therefore, I would Like to paraphrase Groucho Marx and say “ I would never go into a bar that would allow me in the bar” I guess I would have to agree with the “pretentious “comment by another patron. However, not to be dissuaded I went over to restaurant “Roy” and had a fine meal! I have been a patron of all of Roy’s restaurants for over 37years. If you want to be “welcomeI “ I recommend “Roy” over the excuse of a restaurant call the...
Read moreMy new favorite place for a great drink and bite to eat! They’ve got great wine and cocktails, and their small plates are excellent. My favorite appetizers are the grilled cheese toasties(must order) and the French fries cooked in beef tallow. My Old Fashioned was pretty good and the bartender definitely knew his stuff when it comes to spirits. The music and ambiance is always super welcoming and a great time. This is the best place to stop for a bite to eat before heading out to a show or...
