We discovered this down to earth restaurant that serves American Chinese/Cantonese cuisine because I had a craving for walnut shrimp. At the time I had yet to find a place around here that served an iteration that I liked, but I have finally found it!
I was super impressed by the Walnut Prawns here! The prawns were encased in a delightfully light and crispy batter with sweetened mayonnaise, and it was the exact taste and texture that I had been missing all this time. Even the walnuts sprinkled on top were deliciously crunchy and sweet!
I was hoping that they would also have this Dry Stir-Fried Green Beans dish that you can typically find at a Cantonese restaurant. Though it is not on their menu, I was so happy when they told us they could make it! Their version is a little saucier, but the green beans were wok-fried to perfection and the sauce was flavorful with chopped preserved mustard stems and sliced chilies.
The curry beef was also exactly what we were looking for as well; tender slices of beef plus a mix of bell peppers, onions, and celery wok-fried to the perfect texture and mixed with a fragrant curry sauce. Paired perfectly with rice!
Happy to have found a place that serves the comfort food that I love. Looking forward to getting more Walnut Prawns and trying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped at Petco and on the way out of the parking lot, this store caught my attention. I decided to stop and grab take out. The man at the front was very nice and helpful, and my food was ready within 15 minutes, piping hot! I ordered the egg rolls (3), wonton soup, and the curry chicken. I spent about $31 including my tip. I felt bad as it was extremely hot out and the kitchen only has fans running. The front is cooler, but it must be so hot for them in the back. I was pleasantly surprised how big the portion of wonton soup was! The curry chicken was also a very large portion, too. The egg rolls had some brown spice inside Iāve never noticed before with other storeās egg rolls, but they were delicious with the given sauce. My only complaint about the curry chicken is there is a lot of celery in that dish, which I donāt love, however thatās just personal taste/preference. Do recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried this place for the first time. Orange chicken was good. The hot and sour soup was also good. They give you plenty of food for your money. My only gripe is that my fried rice had nothing in it except being fried. I will try this place again in the near future and give my final verdict.
Service: The wife and husband combo runs the place. The wife runs the register, serves, and answers the phone. The husband cooks the food in the back. They had me waiting at the register for a couple of minutes due to someone on the phone.
Ambience: It's definitely a hole in the wall. Decor was very outdated. Typical Chinese restaurant where they were prepping the veggies on one of the tables. It's probably because there is no room in the kitchen.
Amenities: There's a restroom in the back. I didn't use it, so I can't give any feedback. Parking is shared...
