TL;DR: The owner stole over $100 from me and thought I should be happy about it.
We arrived at 5 with our kids, and they are open til 7 or later, and they ran out of pastries. They don’t make them ahead of time, and apparently they don’t care enough about their later visitors to keep an appropriate supply. We won’t be back.
Additionally, we had originally scheduled for 4 pm, and I rescheduled for 5pm, but they only moved one of our party to four over to the new time instead of all of us.
Owner was rude and or work with us to accommodate our party of four including 2 children.
Never coming back. I suggest if you come, you eat first, first of all, and second , don’t even try using their strange rescheduling system online, that doesn’t rebook an entire party at once.
I hope they fold. Their business model is terrible.
In response to the owner’s response, the public should know the owner refused to refund me for the four seatings because their online system doesn’t rebook an entire party at once. Seems like a bait and switch to me, because can you name another restaurant anywhere that when a booking gets rescheduled, only reschedules one party member at a time?
And as for my using foul language, no one was in your lobby at the time, and I was on my way out, and you had the temerity to give me some kind of “have a nice day” after completely ruining our little family celebration AND refusing to offer a refund. What was warranted was an apology and an effort to fix the problem, but it seems you don’t have enough business acumen to try to keep your customers and encourage them to return.
In my opinion, you don’t refund people who make scheduling mistakes on purpose, because you need that money to stay afloat. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was part of your “business model.” I’ve never met an owner in my life who said they can’t offer a refund.
And if you had? You would have gotten that money back, because we would have rescheduled. But instead, you’ll be hearing from my credit card company.
You are scammy, and you don’t value your customers, and I would say I’d celebrate when you inevitably fold, but truthfully, I won’t be wasting much more of my thoughts about you at all.
6/26/25 ETA: The credit card company resolved the charge-back in our favor, so that should tell anyone reading this that we’re not the only ones who think their practice of not moving the entire reservation, and then not admitting they made a mistake and refunding the money, was...
Read moreI have been following this place for months online and even backed their kickstarter and they did not disappoint. The coffee and other drinks are really good! Sometimes I don’t taste the syrups that much in lattes but i think that’s just a me thing since other drinks were fine like the cold brew (smooth as heck btw) and the yuja ocean ade (favorite one, really recommend it). The cats were great and itty bitty sweeties! The staff was very helpful in dietary questions such as allergies for their drinks and were great with giving info on the cats and rules.
I do recommend coming earlier in the day before the cats get tired from interacting with people all day, but that’s no one’s fault. I would be tired by 11 am if I were those cats. You should be careful with the merch area because I already spent like 50 bucks on cat merch alone, it's really cute.
Anyways, I saw some negative reviews about the scheduling. It’s not that difficult to understand, at most, maybe they should provide a warning about how each ticket must be rescheduled/ cancelled separately. However, when you go to cancel or reschedule, it shows you on the page that there are separate “reschedule” and “cancel” buttons. When you do either of those things to only one ticket, it will show you that only one ticket was rescheduled. You also get an email saying that 1 ticket was rescheduled, unlike when you initially book multiple where you can see you paid for 2. So maybe read better? The DMV and College websites have worse ui than this; if you have filed taxes before, you can figure this out. If you’re spending $100+ , it doesn’t hurt to double check. You can be disappointed in how things work out sometimes, but jesus christ, take a chill pill. It is probably done this way because sometimes, a person might need to cancel just one or reschedule a couple to another time and not all the tickets. This process takes less than a minute.
Also, for the pastry comment: That’s just how cafes and bakeries work. Unless you scheduled for a 2hr experience that includes the free pastry, the pastry thing is not a big deal and is in fact, very normal for a cafe.
Ultimately, I am supportive of the owners and I wish...
Read moreAfter traveling all over the state to visit all the cat cafes, like Crumbs & whiskers in LA, Kittea cat lounge in SF, Cat town in Oakland, My husband and I finally drove over 2 hours away from Rancho Cordova to visit. Our car broke down on the way so we almost didn’t make it! Given the ordeal and the months long anticipation for this place, we were expecting a real Dopamine boost, lots of cat cuddles and love. When we arrived, we first entered the cafe part which was beautifully renovated. There was a nice selection of drinks that can you choose for free if you make a reservation. The desserts looked stellar & the staff were friendly when we were checking in. Our strawberry lattes were delicious. Once you’re in the cat area, you can notice how much detail and effort has been put in to make the place magical and cute. There’s themed cat trees, biscuit mats to sit on, toys, places for the cats to climb. This is definitely the most kawaii cat cafe I’ve been to, however also the most expensive. There was a large group with us during our session so when we all sat down in the cat area, they all went to the cats that were on the couch (naturally) We sat in the corner and waited, hoping we might catch a glimpse of the kittens. A lady working there offered one of the ladies in the big group a cat treat. We both felt rather left out/ignored. We also would have loved to feed the kittens some treats….And then another woman came in the middle of the reservation , for a 30 minute session so it felt like we had even more humans and less kittens. We did end up getting a chance to interact with the cats more towards the end of our 60 minutes but it just felt like a real struggle. The ratio of cats to people just wasn’t ideal. The cats are lovely though. They seem healthy & very well taken care of and the staff were extremely attentive to them as well. I do wish they were more like Cat Town where they have much more cats and also individual rooms where you can hang out with a cat or two at a time so it’s more personal, intimate, and just easier to hang out with the cats. I would still recommend this place to try once as it is...
