New K-Pub In Town

Drove here to think that the restaurant I used to go was still here, turns out there’s a new restaurant in town! We came here without any prior knowledge of the restaurant. We were first greeted by two really awesome women. They were very friendly, approachable and helpful explaining things in the menu. The restaurant is well-lit, spacious, and seats are comfortable. They also have great Japanese/Korean pop musics that are actually enjoyable with great vibes! Ordering is easy using two methods: through QR code or the traditional order method. We ordered online and prompted us to pay already! Easy PZ! Anyway, I ordered pork bulgogi over kimchi fried rice, and my bf ordered Beef Intestine over Kimchi Fried Rice (I was going to order the intestine, but I opted in to ordering something to two things). We also ordered croquette and seafood pancake as a side dish. They have different types of sauce- chili sauce (which is almost similar to chipotle sauce), white sauce (which has sweet and chili flavor in it), ketchup, and homemade BBQ sauce. The seafood pancake is pricy, average taste but overall good in my opinion (but could be better). The croquette was freshly made, and it was really good with the white sauce. For the main dish, I will definitely order the beef intestine again. I personally liked the white sauce for all of them. However, it seems reasonable to order egg rice instead of kimchi fried rice so that you can distinguish the taste of meat all in all. I also HIGHLY recommend you drink Soju with it (I was not able to). Organ meats tend to taste better for me with alcohol (at least in our Filipino culture). However, with or without it, I love the texture, the spiciness and the tenderness of the meat.

Overall, I highly welcome this new place, and I will definitely come back here again! Bring your friends out here and...

If you want a genuine "pocha" experience - a Korean-style tapas plus drinks - look no further. Rice Junky provides a funky and fun decor and experience with no frills, no snooty, everyday good comfort food and drinks. This is a perfect place for hanging out with friends and others. Be ready to be part of a gaggle, be loud and fun. It's just a happy place!

Now, Rice Junky has a wide variety of category of food but surprisingly is well controlled in not trying to do "everything". They dishes are positioned like tapas where the portions are surprisingly small, compared to regular Korean restaurants. But it's not done in an offensive way. It's just that you'll be surprised to see such small pajeon or chicken, etc. The initial impression of "cheap" prices thus quickly dissipates away. Now, to compensate, the quality of the food is in general top notch. Korean fried chicken here is magical, and a lot of the ramen and udon are also great. Having this caliber of food at a bar again is respectable.

But again, who goes to Rice Junky to just eat? It's all about the drinks. So many different types of soju cocktails as well as a decent selection of pitchers. And again, each table houses 6 comfortably. You don't go to Rice Junky to eat by yourself. You go here because it's the weekend and you're going to have a great time.

Go early. Waits can get brutal as tables seldom open up once the party begins. A great addition to El...

I'm a fan of ramen and I've had my fair share of ramen around the bay and in southern california, and this one disappoints.

I've had Kotetsu twice. My first visit, I thought this place was okay. Their ramen wasn't anything too special but it was good enough for me to come back again for a second visit. And on my second visit, it was just bad. I came here with a group of 5 on Saturday night and the wait was about half hour. Their service was slow and it just took a long time to get our order, food, etc.

We got some appetizers to share for our table and for the most part enjoyed those. The black pepper karage chicken was delicious. The roasted rice ball (yaki onigiri) was good but it was slightly too roasted, and lacked a bit of flavor. The pork and avacado wrap was just gross. It came last after all the ramen and it was cold. The taste was just off, the mix of kimchi and avacado was not good and in one of our wraps.. they forgot the pork ): I also got the spicy kuro ramen with extra noodles. I loved the garlic in the broth but the saltiness of the broth was overwhelming. I couldn't taste anything else but salt, plus it wasn't spicy! an extra dollar for nothing. The chashu and the noodles were okay. Overall, I was not too happy with the food and service here. If i'm going to wait for ramen, might as well wait at Orenchi...
