Gonna echo what other reviews have also said. I have been going to this location for years, so much so that I was on a first name basis with the old owners. Unfortunately, this location (+ Scott’s Valley & Pacific Grove) was bought out by new franchisees and ever since then the quality, service, and atmosphere have gone down astronomically. The lettuce is oftentimes brown, dry, and wilted. The tomatoes are literally falling apart, to the point where employees have to sift through what looks like a several days old bin right as you stand there. The hot sub bread is the bread they didn’t use the day before, hard as a rock. The avocado is brown. All the while, they have continued to raise prices. The service used to be absolutely stellar and while I’ll say there are some employees who still give amazing customer service, it seems as though the new manager (Selah) has wildly changed the overall culture of the store for the worse. I have seen her not only be unprofessional / snarky with customers and rush them down the line only to pull them back for their toppings (and more often than not, get said toppings wrong because everyone in line gets all out of order when they force people to pay before their food is made), but I have also seen and heard her be extremely condescending and just flat out rude to her employees. As a result, the turnover rate of this store has increased ten fold since the management change. I’m not going to tell someone how to operate their store, but I do hope she is aware how much she negatively impacts her team, the customers, and as a result the entire culture and atmosphere of this Jersey Mike’s. Clearly, whoever is meant to be overseeing her work is turning a blind eye to her incompetence. Unfortunately, this has left a bad taste in many Santa Cruz locals’ mouths (myself included). I’d recommend taking your business to Seabright Deli, Beach Hut Deli, or...
Read morePro tip for vegans: pick up some falafel's at falafel of Santa Cruz. They're only $.95 apiece. With your chickpea balls in hand head right on over to Jersey Mike's. their breads are all vegan already.
Order the whole wheat plus cherry relish, banana peppers, jalapeños. Add Santa Cruz falafel to sando.
Oh yeah, they gave my dog some bacon on the house. Very happy bodhi dog now.
The staff were very nice and asked how my day was going and what I was up to. I like the conversational proprietors
To my amazement, they actually did not charge sales tax, which is actually correct if you were buying a cold sandwich and taking it to go. Even Subway gets that wrong.
Service was fast and I had my sandwich in probably two minutes flat.
I'm still just blown away that they gave my little Shiba Inu dog, some bacon complementary like dat.
But for realz, vegetarians will like this place. As a level 5 vegan (I don't eat anything that casts a shadow), my only complaint is that they don't have any vegan protein options, such as impossible, burger, beyond burger, MorningStar or...
Read moreI went there to get my birthday sandwich and they were in the middle of doing a huge catering order. There was a couple ahead of my friend and I, I ordered and sat down. 5 other people came in after me. Everyone got their sandwiches and I went to the counter and asked Where's my sandwich, his reply was I didn't get a order for that. I was mad I had been sitting there with my friend for at least 30 minutes if not longer to find out my order was never submitted. My friend told me he went there on his lunch break and waited 30 minutes for a sandwich also. Never going there again. There's to many other places to get a sandwich much faster and just as good. I don't want anything for this comment so don't ask me to email customer sup just know that there's 5 renters at our household and none of us will ever go there again nor will our friends. They weren't...
