Great food and great service. Seriously. This is now my first choice when I'm craving tacos in Santa Fe, New Mexico. (I'm not from here but I do visit a lot.)

On my first visit*, I had three tacos: Carnitas, Al Pastor and Fish. The meat was so tender, the tacos assembled with care, and the taste.... yum! And Samuel, who took my order, was so friendly and patient, making suggestions based on my preferences. (I was like... "I'm visiting from NYC for work and I want green chile on EVERYTHING!" Can't get it on the East Coast.) Samuel also gave me a complimentary cup of the Green Chile Stew -- such a nice complement to my trio of tacos. (And some extra sides of fresh green chiles and x-hot sauce.) I ate outside so it was a little chilly even with the sun. But the stew warmed me up from the belly out!

*So my first visit was sabotaged by a flat tire about a mile from K'Bueno. By the time I changed the tire, it was past closing time at K'Bueno Tacos. The next day, I got the tire changed and made a bee-line for K'Bueno Tacos. So. Worth. It!

If you're still reading.... I went back the next day because I couldn't stop thinking about my first meal. This time I ordered a carnitas burrito with avocado and green chiles. Each bite was amazing, though it was not as handheld as I had hoped. (I ate it in the car.) I needed lots of napkins to make it through, but it was still worth it. Next time I'll plan to eat it on a plate. And on this visit, I was given a complimentary Quesa Birria. Oh, the flavors... and dipping it in the broth.. yum! That was the first time I've ever had Quesa Birria but definitely not the last time. I think I'll have one each time I visit K'Bueno as a starter!

My wife will visit me in two weeks and our first meal will be at K'Bueno. And before we head to the airport to go home, we'll swing by K'Bueno Tacos. I'm already planning on how we can bring back K'Bueno's food in my checked luggage. 4realz. I hope other people enjoy K'Bueno as much as I have. Great food and people. What more can...

In search of breakfast on a budget, we came across this small restaurant in Santa Fe that only looks unassuming.

Big, bold flavors are stuffed into these two-hand burritos. I had the bacon burrito that comes with egg, hash browns, chunky potatoes, cheese and crispy bacon. The red chili, which I was told was the spicier choice, had a depth to it that was more than the heat that comes with it.

My boyfriend’s burrito was similar but instead of bacon, he chose sausage and the “X-más” chili, a combination of both red and green chili. He said the sausage and potatoes were perfectly cooked and the only thing that struggled to keep its composure was the tortilla which tightly hugged the food.

Just as impressive as the food are the young men behind the counter. The cook quickly prepared our food and didn’t sacrifice the quality for speed. And the youngest, who’s the cashier, is smart, passionate about the food they sell and incredibly polite.

In a place where there’s no shortage of restaurants, this place which has only been open for two years, truly stands out in product and service.

Wishing them...

Stopped by for breakfast and they had just opened at 10 am. The owner, Melvin Lopez, greeted us and was engaging and helpful when I mentioned it was our first time in. I had never tried a breakfast taco so ordered two Christmas style, as well as a breakfast burrito with black beans instead of meat with green chile. My partner got an Al Pastor burrito (rice, pinto beans, maybe cheese we forgot to check) with red sauce on the side. All were delicious! The sauces were mild to medium and in particular I loved the green chile. The tacos were larger than I expected and so I only ate one and some of the burrito, which was very large also. I really enjoyed our visit, the owner was very friendly and let me sub black beans into my breakfast burrito which I I prefer, and they were tasty beans! Also nice covered outdoor seating in front, as well as a couple small tables inside. I have photos but they won't upload right now. I'll try again. Definitely worth returning to for a fast meal, lower prices and...
