Lino runs a fantastic authentic Italian restaurant that offers delectable tantalizing, always fresh, Pastas and Seafood. My wife and I tried to eat their once a month to get a break from our regular diet but also to enjoy the company of Lino and Nicola, too amazing heartfelt people that work and bring enjoyment to the experience of having a wonderful meal. Stopping in and enjoying an hour or two with company that may have in town or just a couple of friends, will bring a satisfaction in your heart and soul with the nourishment that you receive by stopping in at Osteria. My wife really enjoys the special drink of the house, a sparkling limoncello it's not on the menu, but ask for it. Another enjoyable facet of Osteria is the special menu generally provided by waitstaff to guests. On this recent visit the special was a seafood special pasta and it was just enjoyable fresh shrimp fresh salmon pasta that was cooked to perfection and a cream sauce that just made it seem like angels from Heaven had made it maybe they did. I have to learn to take pictures before I eat because I have no pictures to show you but in my experience this will be a real treat. Make your reservations a few days in advance and ask to sit in the small dining room it's very cozy and very romantic.

My husband and I dined here on 2/15/25. The last time we dined here it was such an incredible experience, from the food to the service and ambience. This time was the complete opposite - the place is filthy (see picture of the window ledge beside our table). The blinds were covered in dust, and the indoor plants are plastic. As for the food - yikes! I ordered the Burrata salad ($22!) which arrived with literally a sliver of burrata, a couple of leaves of arugula and some tomatoes. My husband had the Caesar salad - pitiful! No anchovies, a few dry croutons and a handful of leaves. For entrees I had the lasagna bolognese (it was bone dry, and seemed 2 days old). I requested extra bechamel sauce to try and make it palatable - even that didn’t make it appetizing. I left more than half. My husband had the Osso Buco ($56!!!) which was just ok .. The only highlight was our server, Jennifer, who could not have been more attentive and fabulous - thank you Jennifer for making an otherwise awful experience, pleasant. We are locals, and trust me, there are soooo many other much better options in Santa Fe - don’t make the mistake of dining here. We certainly won’t be back.

My wife and I were visiting Santa Fe and we had asked our neighbors who used to live there where we ought to eat... their first response was Osteria D'Assisi. We started with the gnocchi appetizer and it rivaled any I have had in Italy for sure. Afterwards I had the filet and my wife had the carbonara. My filet was rare to med rare the way I like it. It was butter.. I did not need a knife, it was that tender. The carbonara was rich and tasty, every thing a carbonara ought to be. Our waiter, Dan, was great... we had chosen to dine upstairs. He was running back and forth as he had people downstairs. Dan filled us in on the history of the building and the restaurant itself. Hands down if you are coming to Santa Fe by all means eat the local indigenous food it is fabulous, the chile's etc. However set aside that special night and dine at Osteria D'Assisi. We have traveled to Italy many times as we are both cyclists. And we will be buying a houser there soon, we know good Italian and this is certainly one of the best.

Very sad. Over the last 15-16 years, I have eaten here 4-5 times per year (or more when I lived in Santa Fe for 3 years back in 1999-2002/3). It had always been fantastic. Both food and service.

Unfortunately, tonight that was not the case! My wife and I had reservations for 6:15 PM before we were heading to the Opera. We tried to get earlier reservations, but were told there were none available. Upon arrival at 6:14 PM, we noticed the restaurant was les than 40% full...hmmm...we let the manager and our server know that we needed to be out of there by 7:15. We ordered relatively simple meals...calamari and gazpacho as hors d’oeuvres, wine, and Chicken Parmigiana and the rack of lamb...reminding them we needed to be served our main course no later than 7:00 PM. A side note, I started by ordering my favorite dish, mushroom stuffed ravioli, but was told they were out already...hmmm. Our server was very nice, but not very effective. At 7:10, she brought the manager, who assured us it would be out in a few minutes. We were served the main course at 7:22 PM! To make matters worse, my wife’s chicken was burned (the crust) black and over cooked (no hyperbole). My rack of lamb (with bleu cheese, also had no bleu cheese) was ordered to be medium rare, with the explicit instruction to err on the side of rare vs medium...it came out well done! Because of time constraints we told our server we would just eat it. She brought the manager out..who told us how busy they were (when we left, the restaurant it was still at less than 50% capacity)...they offered us a glass of lemoncello for the situation.... I would never ask for a reduction in the bill, but for $35.00, I expect my lamb to be cooked correctly!

I will not be back. Too bad, this used to be my favorite Italian food in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. This experience, for this caliber of restaurant (presumably a higher end establishment), was so sub par it’s hard to believe that they will be around for...

This was the worst experience ever at this restaurant. Customers be cautious when you choose this place. My daughter said the service and the food was better at Olive Garden. That should speak for itself. The waiter on staff didn’t listen all night. We asked for ice all night and he ignored it until we pulled a waitress away to get us ice. Our drinks were never refilled without asking numerous times. My husbands lasagna was dry and asked the waiter numerous times for more sauce and never did get the sauce. I asked for my food to be without onions and it came with onions. After I let the waiter know it had onions he brought the menu to debate me that it was not made with onions. After I showed him the huge onions on my plate he still argued that it was not made with onions. My husband got upset with the waiter for trying to insinuate I was lying and he threatened to call the police. I asked the waiter for his manager. It turned out after the manager saw the food and did some investigation with the cooks I received the wrong plate and it indeed was made with onions. Ridiculous service with no regard to the customer. The manager tried to make it right and removed the cost of my plate but that was unnecessary...I was going to be willing to pay for it but for the waiter to debate with me. All he had to say was he honestly mistaken to tell the cook NO Onions. If this was an allergy situation it would have been more serious. Thankfully I just don’t like onions. Go somewhere else. It was a very noisy environment with tables so close you can hear everyone s conversations and baby’s crying. Heck go to Italian Infusion best food best service and a 5 star...

Where do I begin ? Let’s start with the slow service. Service started out promisingly but quickly declined. We were a party of 4 and our orders arrived sporadically instead of all together. A member of our party ordered pizza with white sauce and was told 15 minutes after he ordered that his pizza was made incorrectly. The waiter apologized and said he would comp the pizza due to the mishap. The rest of our party proceeded to eat their dinner. I ordered linguini with seafood in a red based sauce over gluten-free pasta. The seafood was over cooked and rubbery and the sauce was mediocre at best. My partners pizza finally arrived almost 30 minutes after the other meals. We were also told by our waiter that he would give us one free dessert due to the pizza mishap. Put check arrived and much to out surprise we were charged for the pizza and also an $8.00 service charge for the gluten free pasta. Out waiter never mentioned an additional fee for gluten free pasta and the charge is not mentioned anywhere on their menu. We questioned our waiter about the charge for the pizza and we’re told because The pizza was eaten, they would have to charge us the full price. We also mentioned the fact that it was not noted on the menu and that the waiter never told us about the eight dollar up charge for gluten-free pasta. Mind you I am used to paying an additional 2 to 3 dollars for gluten free products, but eight dollars is absolutely absurd! We asked to speak to the manager/owner and were told he had gone home for the evening. I do not recommend this place and suggest you avoid it. The food was mediocre at best, slow service and very poor...
