First ever trip to Santa Fe, first ever dining experience. Such an awful experience that we ate in the rest of the trip. One and done was more than enough. After the long walk up the flight of stairs we descended on the host station to check out the menus. Apparently, this was frowned upon as we were shamed by the host for reaching our own menus. We sat down defeated and guilty. The waitress came over and flatly asked us for an order. She was ill prepared, and painfully annoyed at our dietary restrictions questions so much that we almost left right then. Any question or request was met with a blank, lifeless, hollow stare. It was uncomfortable. All of it. We ordered as quickly as possible so we could speed up this whole encounter.

Service was dismal besides the flatness. We had to ask her for water several times, which she proceeded to pour all over the 4 glasses, leaving us to clean it up with our napkins.

“Is that your food?!” my daughter blurted out when it finally arrived. Apparently it had been sitting under the heat lamp for an unsavory amount of time. Lovely.

Let me start out by saying I have never in my life eaten New Mexican food. I was trying to remain authentic and ordered the chicken enchiladas to do so. Big mistake. Flavorless, dry chicken wrapped in fire spice. The beans were runny, flavorless slop. The rice, was there. The melted cheese was the best part. Nice.

The French dip was the fattest cut they had. The bread was old and dry on the corners. The dipping sauce couldn’t save this meal.

The highlight of the entire experience was the dipped fries. I’m not sure if they had dairy or not. I didn’t feel like we were allowed to ask.

We encountered a couple on the street who were considering going into the restaurant upon us leaving. We told them about our experience. Apparently flavorless fire is the New Mexico signature?! Should have gone to La Fonda. At least...

I do not recommend coming here for the food nor service even if you are hungry. However the margarita was good so I give it one star. Our 2 kids were hungry and two other restaurants we walked to was 2.5hr wait and another had full reservatuons only that night, so we walked further and found this place with open table right away. We ordered an appetizer nachos and three entrees and a Margarita. That was when the good experience ended. It took 20mins for the Margarita to come out. It took 45 mins for the nachos appetizer to come out. The salsa was not brought out with the nachos so we asked a total of three times before the waiter brought it out and mentioned that they were out in the back and had to get more. By that time , we almost finished the nachos due to being hungry. It took 50 minutes for the entrees to come out. We were hoping the food would taste great especially since we were hungry and had waited for a long time, but instead it was bland and not too tasteful. The burger was overcooked, which were specified med well, the enchiladas we could only finish one of the two, and the other order we had no comment. They did not refill my water even though it was empty in the first 20mins, and I had to call the waiter a few times to get my bill ready....he must have not heard me, or too busy. We traveled from Tx so will not be returning or...

I went here tonight as a party of 4 the bar was full but seating was empty so there was no wait. We were given water so warm it melted my ice before I was half way done. I had to ask for every single refill of my water and other drinks at the table. We ordered and what seemed like a longer than normal wait we got most our food, surprisingly the salad that was ordered took the longest to be sent out. I order the special which was steak fajitas. My actual plate was hot but my food was grossly over cooked and luke warm at best. The beans looked like they had been sitting on the plate for awhile and the rice was cold. Wings and a burger were also not hot but edible. I sent my fajitas back as they were rubber. I asked for medium rare but got over cooked meat again and was not the typical steaming hot fajitas you might expect. It was also drenched in soy sauce type liquid that made the meat really awful tasting. The veggies in the plate were ok but the liquid sauce made the dish taste like only soy sauce. For $14 this plate gave me a stomach ache and a very bad taste in my mouth. I will never go back to this place and highly recommend you try any where else before you go here! Food...

Great place to eat in downtown Santa Fe! They have an expansive menu including separate lunch/dinner menus and a rotating special, and everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. Rotisserie chicken (specifically the lemon) is delicious, the Mediterranean salad (pictured) was great and filling, the pasta dishes we’ve tried are okay/good, but man the chicken fried steak is fantastic. The chicken sandwich was also great according to my MIL and another friend, and the desserts we’ve sampled (two varieties of chocolate cake) are DELICIOUS. this place isn’t the cheapest ($18-30 with most dishes priced at $21) but it feels upscale and nice so I’ll bring friends/family from out of town here, then walk them around historic Santa Fe when we finish eating. Overall, very kind staff with a nice atmosphere and great food! We’ll be back!

We used to recommend this place when we brought bus groups to town. However, after our absolutely terrible recent experience I will never recommend it again. They receive 2 stars from me. 1 for having public restrooms and 1 because the food was decent. I understand that this could be an anomaly, however. 1) Lunch should not take 2 hours for simple dishes. 2) The waiter should have been more attentive to our table, especially since there is an automatic 20% gratuity added. 3) The checks should have been fixed and apologies issued. 4) The manager should have visited our table after the 1st mistake and should have made sure we were taken care of. 4) A child should not be expected to sit at a table for over an hour before their food is brought to them. And another almost hour for their birthday icecream.
