Upon entering we had no clue what was to come. We were only looking for a different option bc we had eaten food with red or green chilies all day. There was a younger lady at the register, a middle aged lady close by and a much older lady making the dumplings from scratch. I picked up a menu and cashier told me “this is menu”. Yes. Thank you. Then I proceeded to ask what a soup bun was because I honestly did not know. She was curt with the answer when she said “it’s juicy. You like juicy?” I said yes. Then I asked what was the difference between the pork bun and the soup bun and she said very angrily “ I told you already! It’s juicy!” The middle aged lady came to the menu and pointed at dumplings and then pointed at the soup bun. (Um. Ok. Yes. I know what dumplings are). I said ok I will take the pork bun and my friend wants the egg rolls. The middle aged lady proceeded to say “ I already started fixing the soup bun for you”. Um. Ok. Then I will get that. They were talking in their native language to one another and I’m only assuming it was about us. Lol. I proceeded to pay while they fussed and then was told to wait and it would be 5 minutes and it’s not egg rolls , it’s spring rolls. Um. Ok. That’s fine. My friend asked where do you want us to wait? She said “sit!” So we sat at the table closest to the register. And laughed. And laughed. It was all we could do. The much older lady making the dumplings never said a word, never looked up while her counterparts carried on. We have never been treated so rudely before this experience. The soup buns were good (much like a dumpling) and so were the spring rolls. But the service is unbelievably horrid. Had it been better service I would’ve given...
Read moreUnder new management and new menu— Walk in and you'll see three wonderful ladies from Beijing making homemade dumplings. Let me say first off that I used to live in southern China and know what authentic Chinese food is. This is the REAL DEAL!! The first time I went here I ordered the pork dumplings. No joke- they are the best dumplings I've ever had. Fresh, soft, chewy, crunchy, buttery, tender, flavorful, delicious! The soy sauce makes it even better. Very flavorful- possibly homemade? The second time I went in (the very next day) I ordered dan dan noodles. Quite authentic flavor. Fresh ingredients. It's served as the soup version, but I bet they would make the dry version upon request. If you want to know what REAL Chinese food is, give it a try! You won't be disappointed. Also, my fellow New Mexicans, make sure to order your food spicy. Remember that these women are of a different culture and don't be afraid to call to them if you need something- they won't see it as rude. They are still getting the hang of how restaurant service works in the US (in China you literally tell "waiter" or they never go to your table). I recommend bringing cash with you. They take credit cards but prefer you use cash (perhaps because it costs them extra). Each dish is only $7.99. Let's keep this gem of a restaurant in service!! Each time I eat there, it makes me feel like I'm back in China. It's...
Read moreDo not come here. I would give a zero if I could They should be booted out of business for how they treated us. Lady was nice to us when walked through the door but, she turned in to an angry person. Her smirk was deceiving. When we sat down and she gave us are menu she was rushing us and she stood there awkwardly asking us if we wanted to order anything else. Umm.. no we ordered like 5 dishes. She came out with are steamed dumpling dish and she was not wearing anything to protect her hands from the hot plate she expected us to move out of her way because it was hot. When she served the dishes she was shoving the plate on the table and getting angry because of her tiny table didn’t fit all the dishes on the table. Maybe she needs to get bigger tables and gloves to protect her hands from the hot plates. When we were checking out I went ahead and payed with card and did not give a tip because of the service. She looked at the card reader and saw that I didn’t tip her and she ran back to report to her boss and she came back asking for a tip. She said that since I already paid with a card she wanted a cash tip. Umm... no, we don’t have to tip if we don’t want to it’s not apart of are order. Your service was “terrible” and server was rude, (refraining from saying words that I really want to say). Don’t go here. You can find better food and...
