Me, my wife and kids are vacationing in Pensacola Beach from Santa Maria, California. We are staying at a decent hotel but the coffee is not great so we googled local coffee shops and Bad ass coffee was the first that caught our eye from the name. We were excited to try them out! When we entered it was not what we expected. We expected more of a fun and Hawaiian vibe but this place was very dull colored, the paint job was messy on the walls, it was very cluttered on the counter and didn't look very clean from a new persons perspective, it looked like the employees had abandoned their messes where they were working. The drink menu was pretty big with a lot of options something for everyone. They also had sandwiches, muffins, egg bites and little pastries(The pastries were overwhelming with all the options in the display). When we were ready to order I waited at the counter but no-one was there to take our order. Finally a gentleman came walking down from upstairs carrying boxes and greeted us with an aloha and instantly apologized that we had been waiting. He was very friendly and instantly made us feel more comfortable. We had no idea what kona coffee was until he gave us the run down on the company and its history. Two girls came walking from the back and greeted me with a hello then proceeded to make conversation with my wife who was waiting with the kids. They took our orders and educated us on the menu. I got the 100% Kona hot coffee, my wife got the iced beach bliss and my kids got the chocolate frozen drink. All I can say is wow. This coffee is on a whole new level. Hawaiians are really on to something! They really deserve their name Bad ass coffee now only if the store looked more like Hawaii and had more people like that guy that greeted us because if it wasn't for him we would have left. Overall, there is a lot of potential. Coffee &...
Read moreThis was across street from our hotel. We decided to try it as the hotel coffee was pricey. Ordered two cafe au lait - made the same way with half and half and a shot of macadamia flavor. They had to be on separate checks because hubby had to submit expenses for work. They should have cost the same, right? NOPE. The girl working charged more for the second, couldn't print the receipt so all I had to work with was the screenshot below from my account. She couldn't figure out what she did. They both should have been around $8. As for the coffee - No macadamia flavor, just coffee with cream. Maybe they should change the name to Bad Coffee. Food is premade - so if you're looking for fresh food - it's not here. This is frozen and reheated. Hubby was looking for an egg sandwich as no meat on Friday's during lent. When he asked he was told they can't change the premade - when he realized what they were talking about he passed on all food.
The date was 4/4, Friday, bank date was when it posted. I really wanted to like this place - I used to live in Hawaii. Not cool that their Kona blend is only 10% Kona coffee - why?
Note: Coffee in the lobby at Hilton across the street was the same price and actually had the flavors we ordered - tasted...

I was in recently. They were out of certain coffee drinks, food, and other OTC stuff. What I could get in food was 6.50, which should have only been half that price because it wasn't that good. I tried to make conversation but it fell flat. Idk. I thought to try the other shop over in Perdido first, but this one was closer to me - it was my first visit. I live in PCola. If I were a tourist, I'd be discouraged after leaving. If you're burned out, I get it but don't let customers feel that vibe. 🤙 P.S. The photos are really deceptive of this place. I literally thought from seeing them that it was a small quaint sit-down coffee shop. When you come in, it's standing room only and tiny. It would be a bummer if you were in town looking for a place to have a morning coffee with a few friends. They don't even have a few outside cocktail tables to sit, which would be a huge draw. I'm only talking like a few that you see at the mall outside Starbucks. If I were running the store, I'd look into it, especially with tourist season...
