If you’re looking for a shopping experience that engages all your senses, Detwiler’s Farm Market is a must-visit. This place is so much more than a market—it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear you’re in for something special.

Let’s start with the donuts made from scratch—yes, right in front of you! The smell alone will pull you in, and once you try one, you’ll wonder how you ever settled for store-bought. Just a few steps away, you’ll find fresh fruit being cut and offered as samples, with no pressure—sample as much as you’d like. It’s rare to taste such juicy, flavorful produce before you even buy it.

There are samples everywhere: fresh-squeezed orange juice, blocks of cheese, unique fruits, and even a coffee bar that rivals most cafes. One of the most fascinating things to see is the pineapple machine—watch as it effortlessly removes the skin and core, turning a pineapple into a ready-to-eat delight in seconds. It’s mesmerizing.

You can grind your own coffee, make your own nut butter using any nut you choose, and explore an incredible bakery that smells like it belongs in the middle of Amish country. The variety of fruits and vegetables—many you won’t find in regular grocery stores—is a feast for the eyes and taste buds.

I was impressed by the sushi bar, which looked absolutely fresh and professionally prepared, and the sub station, which is like a deli-style version of what you’d find in Publix—but with more character and flavor.

Every corner has something to discover: from ice cream samples at the Polar section to freshly brewed coffee, a rainbow of produce, and tons of delicious samples from cheeses to salsas, snacks, dips, and more.

Detwiler’s isn’t just a place to buy groceries—it’s a place to enjoy food, learn about where it comes from, and experience freshness in its purest form. Whether you’re a foodie, a health-conscious shopper, or just someone who loves a good donut, this market is worth the trip. Five...

Detwiler's Farm Market is not just a market; it's a beloved local treasure! From my recent visit, it's clear that this is where the locals shop for the very best in fresh produce and a delightful shopping experience.

The first thing that struck me was the wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other farm-fresh products available. The quality and selection were outstanding, and it's evident that Detwiler's is dedicated to offering the very best to its loyal customers, many of whom are locals.

What truly sets this market apart is the friendly and helpful staff. They are not only knowledgeable about their products but also genuinely passionate about providing top-notch service. Their willingness to assist and offer recommendations made my shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free.

Detwiler's Farm Market also excels in supporting local businesses. The selection of locally sourced goods and homemade products is impressive, highlighting the commitment to the community.

And let's not forget about the ice cream – it's simply to die for! After a successful shopping trip, treating yourself to their delicious ice cream is a must. The flavors are delightful, and it's the perfect way to cool off on a warm day.

If you're in search of fresh, quality produce, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the chance to shop where the locals do, Detwiler's Farm Market is a must-visit. It's a place that values both its customers and its community, and I can't wait to return for more delightful shopping experiences and, of course, that...

One of my favorite places to shop. My other favorite place to shop for groceries is in Ellenton. 😉

Detwilers has my all time favorite coffee, seen here. Frickin' Awesome white coffee has a tiny touch of a nutty flavor to it and when I add my Original Silk Soy Milk to it, it's... well, yeah. Frickin' Awesome!

They also have the freshest fruits and vegetables this side of the farmer's table, and THE best salsa ever. Once in a while you can find the coolest rare fruits or vegetables, like, sometimes they have cocoa beans... The actual fresh bean! So you can make your own chocolate! How cool is that?

They have what I call the "you better eat it today or it's gonna go bad" sale stuff that is usually quality fruits and veggies that just need to be eaten right away. They don't wait until it's rotten to put it there. I got these AWESOME apricots there (pictured) that were perfectly ripe and the size of peaches! They sold them in a big pack of them, but I just cut them up and enjoyed them that day, then dried what I didn't eat in my dehydrator. They turned out perfect.

The sub sandwiches they make are the best, better than Publix! I hear the lobster roll is worth the money, but I'm a kosher veg head, so I wouldn't know. Add the bakery on to the sandwiches, and I'll follow you anywhere, Detweilers. Your blueberry and Morning Glory muffins are heaven. Oh, and your heaven bars - drool. And your chocolate chip cookies! Oh my! Cinnamon rolls, Danish, pumpkin bread, brownies, you name it they make it deliciously. And you get $1 off...

I’ve been living in FL from DC for about a month now. When I found this place I instantly fell in love I love a good fresh market. This is my first time at the Sarasota location. I normally go to Palmetto. I gave the Sarasota 1 star because I went to this location while in the area. I went back to the fish market to get a WHOLE salmon. I get it from palmetto often. i typically get the while salmon because I have a big family this time I got it because I had a birthday event to cook for. The meat man told me it would be 8.99 a pound which was the same as the salmon steaks that was on display. At the palmetto location I paid 6.99 a pound for the whole fish. I’ve never paid the same amount for the whole fish as I pay for and piece. 1st RED FLAG. Paid $121 for the fish to get it home and it’s not cut as I asked. I asked the meat man to cut it filet just like the ones in the case however I wanted all the pieces from the fish. My GMA makes stew out of the head and bones. When I opened the fish to prep for cooking I was in awwww. The belly was still on the fish, the fins were still on it, there were a ton of bones in the fish and the meat was torn and broken. I could not use this fish for the birthday event. I had to go out and spend more money to get a good looking pieces of salmon with NO BONE! I will never return to this location it caused a huge inconvenience.
