Here on vacation, which I come several times a year. When we walked in there was no one around.. it said please seat yourself. So we walked in and found the waitress in her little hole by the drinks on her phone. No big deal right? Sign says seat yourself. So my kids and I found a seat and as I walked past her I asked if it was kid friendly. The vibe was definitely not very kid friendly so I just wanted to check. She kinda had an attitude and was like yeah? Ok, sorry just checking. She tried to take our order 3 times in like 3 minutes.. it was obvious she wanted to go back to her hole and sit on her phone. Finally we ordered and the water tasted so bad, ordered sodas instead. The food was just ok. I got the Italian sandwich which had very little toppings and no taste. The bread was the best part. The tots weren’t seasoned much and not great either. Left a lot to be desired. The worst part was our waitress didn’t move from her spot on her phone. So if I needed a drink I had to peek around the wall to ask for a refill. She never really asked how the food was. When we changed to soda, I had to yell can we get a different drink? It was obvious her phone was more important than customers. We won’t be back due to this. Then she stands over your shoulder when you leave a tip on her little computer. No I don’t want to leave a small tip but it was so uncomfortable… they need to give you the machine and walk away for a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at this establishment. Because every meal is an opportunity for joy, I hoped to find it after leaving the last similar bar Rafferty's disappointed.
With a menu that offers a wide range of options, it's easy to find something that you'll enjoy. I give this place a four out of five for their excellent selection of dishes.
I was particularly impressed with the bartender who served me during my visit. She was engaging and made great recommendations, although I wish she had introduced herself so I could give her proper recognition. The staff here really knows how to treat their customers with respect, even if you're not a local. As a local bar, it reflects the diverse demographic of Sarasota and it does so beautifully.
One thing I loved about this place is that they have healthy options on their menu, like the Greek bowl...i added meat....of course. :-) which was a fresh and tasty choice. Every time I've been here, the staff and bartenders have been spot on. The bartender really is the heart of the bar, and this bartender was cool, which made the entire bar experience cool as well.
Overall, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and drinks, and a friendly atmosphere. Every meal truly is an opportunity for joy here!
It's also a sports bar it's got a great vibe I'm here for the food though...
Read moreWe stopped there Thursday night before a show at the Van Wezel. Ordered the pretzels, a "personal size" Stromboli, a cobb salad, iced tea & water. First the bill was totally wrong charging for 2 sodas when my husband had water, charging $19 for a personal Stromboli (was supposed to be $10) with 2 toppings sausage & mushrooms that were i thought $2 extra price (very very few toppings in it mostly mozzarella cheese & really thick tasteless bread) a cobb salad that was not worth the price with hard chewy chicken. Credit was partially corrected but was told could not give a receipt for the credit even though we asked several times. Waiter seemed confused and we had to repeat several times what we wanted. Plus seemed apprehensive about my choice of toppings for some unknown reason?? By the time it arrived, We had to pack it up to go as we had to get to the show so weren't able to eat everything. The only thing good were the pretzels & queso dip. What we tried to eat later was very bland tasteless, and very disappointed in the food & our bill even though it was partially corrected. Bill mistakenly was $60 then corrected to $48. We will never go back. The food was not good at all! They need to address these issues as had we had time we would have spoken to a manager & sent...
