Went to see Sinbad here in July 2018 and loved the show. We had a great time and lots of laughs. I'd love to give 5 stars but I didn't because of a couple of things. When we bought the tickets online the picture shows a table with chairs however the downside was that the tables are only about 2 ft by 2 ft square and two of the seats in front of the table facing the stage and two behind the table. There is no comfortable way to sit at the tables and have drinks and/or food from their menu without having to hold onto them so they don't fall on the floor and four people at once trying to do this is not gonna happen. The people in the front of the table facing the stage have got to either hold their drinks or turn away from what's going on on the stage. So your back to the entertainment is not a good idea or it targets you by the comedian's and can be thought of as being rude and ignored which isn't anyone's intention. The other thing is that you pay for the show, $44+ to be there but then you're obligated to purchase at least 2 items from their menu. That's quite alot as most people want to go see a show and enjoy themselves instead of being pushed to order drinks or food but many people want to get to the show and back home safely without worrying about being stopped by police with alcohol in their breath and in their system. Just put the menu out and keep it "optional" and people can make their own choices and not feel like not going to a show because they either don't drink and have just come from a restaurant. It's way too much. And the last thing that occurs is that there is no organized line to get in to go into the show. You just hope you have the right area to enter because you're in the bar itself which just gets completely jammed against each other waiting for someone to tell you that you can now enter through a curtain pulled across a hallway. Then everyone is pushing and shoving to get in which makes no sense because everyone has their own assigned seats so go figure. Then when any show is finished, people try going back out through that same doorway and back into the Bar and out those doors instead of out the doors by the stage that say Exit right over them. There needs to be an entrance separate from everyone crowding into the bar while waiting for the first show to get over and those people rushing out to fight getting by those waiting to get in. That's a fire trap just waiting to happen yet very simple to fix. Hopefully this helps them as it makes the visit their enjoyable and people will definitely want to go back again. I can't tell anyone how many times we have chose to drive down to Visani's in Port Charlotte just so we could have less hassles and be stepped on and have very easily arranged seating. I'd love to go back to see a good comedian at McCurdys and a few of the other shows they do but knowing I've got to go through all of these other things makes me have a second thought. It's rare for many people to be able to get out and attend all of the shows and entertainment around the area but it would be a much better time if the owners would take some of my comments and be open minded and fix what they can because they could do so much better for business if they correct some of these issues. It's fun to get out but not to break the bank...
Read moreToday I went to the McCurdys comedy club to enjoy a night out as I have over a hundred times before. I had excellent service at the bar before the show. I was so pleased that I tipped way over 20%. The service I got in the club was far from excellent. I ordered a bucket of beer, quesadillas and fries. I was at the club on Sunday and also ordered the the fries. It came with ranch and ketchup. Today I only got ketchup. I asked our waitress, Paige, for the second sauce that the menu stated that the fries came with. She had an attitude and said what sauce do you want. I did not know I had options, it had previously came with an extra sauce without me having to ask. She said that the she would get a side of ranch. I also asked for plates because there were 3 of us sharing the food. I had to ask another waitress to bring the plates. Only 2 plates were brought for the 3 of us. She then passed our table about 10 times before she brought our ranch. By this time I only had 3 fries left. My daughter's each ordered drinks separately from my order. When it came time to pay the check, one check was brought. I asked why she didn't ask how many checks. She said that she assumed because I ordered food for everyone, that I was paying the total. Again she had an attitude. She brought the separate checks and we paid. The tip was already included on the bill. I paid cash. A gentleman came back with my change and said that I was 44cents short. I said that I wasnt going to pay that because I had bad service and that I would stay after the show to talk to the owner about the bad service. He told me that if I don't pay it that I would have to leave. I said okay. He then walked over to the boucner and I was escorted out. I am a woman no taller than 5 foot 3. It was very unnecessary to have a large man escort me out. We then went to the green room lounge to speak about paying the 44cents. I was forced to pay even though I still do not believe that I had service that earned the full 15% automatically added tip. I went back to the first bartender that I got my first beer from and asked her to tell the manager that I had horrible service from Paige today. I work in the service industry and hold all other service workers to the standard that I work in and compensate then for that service. I am beyond dissatisfied with the service that I...
Read moreBeen to McCurdys a bunch of times and most experiences have been very good. But, the experience I had recently was unacceptable and mind blowing to say the least. My wife and I brought both of our parents to a show, along with my brother and his wife. We were in the far back corner. At one point the comedian had said something in Spanish, my brother leaned over (so quietly that I didn't hear him from a few seats away) to ask his wife what he said, since she knows spanish. And, a second later one of the "security guards" went over to them, put a hand in their face and told them to "watch your talking!" in a very aggressive manner. He then literally stood by our table and stared us down making things super uncomfortable for our entire group. While he's staring me down, I threw my hands halfway up at him gesturing "what are you looking at?!" He continued to stare me down for several minutes at which point I mouthed "what the f are you looking at?" He then called over another guard and they then proceeded to kick our whole group out. My parents are almost 70 years old and were super confused and frustrated. The loser guard that was staring at us, even put his hands on my mother in law. I asked for manager and when speaking to manager she brushed off everything I said and told me her staff is top notch. While outside of the building, trying to figure out what just happened, our actual server (who we had constant interaction with) came outside and asked what happened, he was as confused as were were and agreed that it was ridiculous. He also revealed that the guy who kicked us out, has been there for just ONE week. The manager who raved about her staff, didn't bring this up conveniently. Should I have not (quietly, without making a peep) confronted the guard for staring us down for several minutes? Maybe. But, I feel anybody else would have been just as frustrated and thrown off as I was and done the same thing. Seems the staff needs to be re-evaluated, big time. The manager was useless and the security dude obviously has some issues and wants a power trip. Pretty dangerous if you ask me. Whole situation is a shame since I loved that place and Wes. Chatted with him after one of the show sand seems like...
