Went to Panera at UTC district for lunch today 10/6/16. We ordered our food and decided to sit at at a table with umbrella out in the patio to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. We were eating our food when all of a sudden and Without warning, One of the employee stepped up on the chair while the second employee told us "we have to fold all the umbrellas on the table." We have to quickly grab our napkins to cover our food to keep the dust/debris from the umbrella in getting into our meal. " you guys could have have waited to fold those umbrellas after we ate our meal." I stated. " Our manager told us to fold it." the 2nd employee replied. The female manager came to our table and the employee who stepped on the chair told the manager " she said we should have waited to fold the umbrella once they're done eating." "I'm not gonna argue with you, it's safety hazard." The manager told me. But, who is arguing?? The truth is I came to eat not to argue and I just wanted to enjoy my meal free of foreign matter. " the wind is not that bad" ( 8mph intermittent) I told her. "They need to be folded, it's safety hazard" she replied in a condescending tone. I didn't respond to her last comment and I have lost my appetite by this time. There was a another couple sitting across from each other at a table adjacent to us who had to rearrange their sitting arrangement because they are unable to see each other while talking/eating after the umbrella was folded. A group of diners on the 3rd table whose umbrella was folded also during this meal stated "that's just not right." To this Panera female manager- you need to REASSESS your behavior as manager. You need to handle situations in a professional manner with customers, mind your tone of voice, delegate work accordingly. There are so many places to choose from around UTC district to have a dining experience, competion is tight in that area so, be a real manager and...
Read moreI’ll start by saying that I know many businesses are struggling these days, and getting good staff is a problem. That said,
Why such a bad attityde among the staff? I´m from Sweden, the coffeparadise, one he the heaviest consumers of coffe in the world, run a couple of famous food sites and always try to get new food/beverage experiences from new places.so this is what happened.
It´s morning, all about getting good energy. I order a vanilla latte, I wait and wait and suddenly I get a cold one. Never ordered it. A Sweden would never drink a cold coffee in the morning. So I thinking this is easy to solve.
The staff making the brekfeast is annoyed when I tell them, can rely feel bad vibes, the dude says something evil about the cashier. They got some extra work and emitting perhaps the worst attityde I experienced in a breakfeast place. I get back and get my hot vanilla latte. Not a single excuse from anyone.
Hope the manager takes this seriuosly, it´s not my customer, nor my money which will often be on the downhill with staff having a serious attityde problem with ech other,...
