I've eaten at all locations and have always had 5 star experiences. This is my 4th time eating at this location, and this time, the service was less than pleasant. The food was great and served quickly as always. I don't know if this was a short staffing issue, but there appeared to be one server handling the outside seating area, where I was. Halfway through my meal, I asked for more coffee but never got any. Our server went in and out many times and looked around but never had a coffee pot. No one else came to check, either. I finally just gave up on the coffee but still had to wait a while for the check, despite no food being left on the dishes. When the server came to take our plates, I told her she didn't need to bring the coffee anymore (since I was obviously done), to which she replied, "Okay." Then she started showing me the device to cash out, and this really annoyed me! I've been handed this device by every other server at every location to complete the transaction. As I started to take it, she wouldn't let it go, and we started to both pull at it. When I kept trying to take it, she finally said she couldn't let it go and continued to hold it. Then she started to point to what she wanted me to press on the screen. If they changed their policy in the past couple of weeks and will truly not let customers hold the device, there are polite ways of explaining that. That change threw me for a loop as I felt rushed and didn't get to use my reward points. The rushed part was that she kept looking around at the other tables while holding the device in front of me.
It may have been a bad day, but I ALWAYS give a 5 star rating on the payment device, except for this time. I'll head back to UTC and give this location time to...
Read moreThis breakfast-and-lunch spot has a charming Southern vibe and is within easy walking distance from downtown Sarasota hotels. I stopped in for a morning coffee and a baked treat, and it did not disappoint.
I chose a quiet two-person table outside. The location is ideal in the mornings—tables are shaded, there’s usually a pleasant breeze, birds are chirping, and flowers are in bloom. It’s a recipe for a great start to the day.
The almond croissant was absolutely amazing—perhaps the best in Sarasota. They reminded me of the teasingly delicate tartlets Morton’s used to make years ago, which were once my favorites. I’m overjoyed to have finally found a place that brings back that same delight.
The Americano was just perfect—smooth, with no bitterness or sour notes. Inside, there’s a spacious seating area with ample distance between tables, making it both comfortable and kid-friendly. The tables vary in size, so whether you’re alone, a couple, or a larger group, there’s a place for you.
One quirk: the coffee and baked goods bar doesn’t display prices, which gives it a slightly cheeky, boutique feel.
The menu looks great overall, and I’ll definitely be back for lunch. Highly recommended for any visitor to Sarasota looking for a relaxed, flavorful experience in a...
