This review is not about the food because the food is fairly decent for the price. This review is purely about the service. I called in an order on a Saturday night (4/24) with the hopes that I'd pick it up about 15-20 minutes after placing my order. The gentlemen on the phone took my order and confirmed that the order would take 15 minutes. I arrived to pick up my order about 20 minutes later only to find that the order was not ready, which I thought "ok I can wait another 5 minutes or so" because it was very busy. However, what was originally supposed to be a quick pick up turned into an additional 40 minute wait!
During the additional 40 minute wait, the following occurred: I watched the waiter and the "owner", or "general manager" (I guess he was the one in charge because he seemed to call the shots) argue (SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL) in front of the customers, multiple workers came in and looked very confused about orders and who to sit first (there were some people who got upset because they arrived first and had to wait, only to have other people arrive after and get seated first), after being told that they would expedite my order, I was informed that my order never made it to the back (this is 15 minutes AFTER being told they would expedite it), once my "order" was reprinted I was informed that the waiter printed the WRONG ticket (another 15 minutes go by) so they had to reprint it, and last but not least, at the 35 minute mark I asked to get a refund because I needed to leave, only to be told that the "owner" is not going to approve it because he's "anti-refund". What...a...nightmare!
I put this solely on the "owner"/"GM". He never offered an apology, or any type of compensation. On top of that when the wrong order was printed by the waiter, the "owner"/"GM" came up to me and very abruptly put the receipt right up to my face rudely. I honestly felt bad for the workers because they all seemed confused and flustered which is a reflection on management.

Read moreI have been here several times before and I enjoy the food and service is just fine normally. Tonight was a different story the service was so terrible. I along with 10+ others with takeout waited over an hour from when my order said it was supposed to be ready.
I understand that sushi is made individually and can take some time but I expect to be told a realistic wait time before I pay instead of just a couple min when clearly they knew it would take much longer. They had some large sushi orders so I understand it can take a long time but be upfront and let us know.
Even though my sushi was not ready my other hot Chinese food was ready and sat on the counter getting cold for over an hour until my sushi (1 roll btw) was finally made. This was the case for me as well as all the other take out orders. Don’t prep my faster part of my order if you know I will have a wait until it’s all ready.
Takeout orders were totally pushed off the priority list tonight. I saw at least 4 people come into Red 8 to eat after I arrived who all ordered Sushi. They all finished eating and left before most of the takeout orders were filled.
It was not until I asked for a refund that my order was then filled in 2 min. This pushed me ahead of many others which should not have happened either. The one who complains should not be bumped ahead of others.
I was disappointed that I never even received an apology or update the entire time on my order.
Normally I’d just be done with a place after receiving treatment like this and others I talked to while waiting said I am never coming here again but like I said earlier the food is really pretty good and I know the sushi chefs were working very hard to fill orders. I will give them another chance in the future because I hope they might change some things if they see this to make it better.

I came here for the lunch special, but was told that they don't do the lunch special on Sunday, but they still have the dinner special available. What is the dinner special? Well, basically the lunch special, but a few dollars more expensive... And you get egg rolls with it, well you were supposed to. Haha. But, they never gave them to me in my order, and that was left out.
So, on my second trip here, I'm pretty sure it will be my last. For being the only sushi place in the area, it can probably stay alive for a little longer, but, I won't be able to handle much competition. ----------Review above is the updated review------ So, I'll start off my review by saying this place has some of the best sushi I've had in Utah I believe I ordered the California roll, Alaska Roll and the deep fried Tiffany roll.
Here's why I took off one star: I showed up at 8:40, because on Google and on Yelp it said that they closed at 9:30.... Upon walking in, my friend and I were told that everything was take out only, because they were closing at 9:00.... So, I just ordered some sushi rolls and drove home. (The reason why I didn't include any pictures of my sushi, is because they got shaken around on my way home, and didn't look nice. Haha.)
Great place, and I will probably return, but a little bugged that they are closing earlier than what they have saved online, and even what is posted in the windows.... They also turned off the "OPEN"...
