I hate to even do this, but I’m really irritated. We saw the sign saying “best breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Grundy county”. Grundy county is made up of 36 cities, villages, & towns, so as you can imagine we thought it would be a great meal.
I ordered the lumberjack cinnamon french toast combo which comes w/ eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, & your potato choice. My boyfriend ordered the taco salad. First of all, I asked for cubed potatoes (choice between hash and cubed) and a couple packets of ketchup to go with it. I received confirmations and “yes, definitely” from the woman on the phone, so I assumed she heard my requests. The hash browns were flavorless, shredded garbage and not what I ordered. I did not receive ketchup which might’ve saved the hash browns (probably not, though). It wasn’t exactly a large order either…I’ve worked in the service industry for 10+ years and have had my fair share of massive food orders, special requests, substitutes, etc. No excuse for fcking that up unless you wanna blame the kitchen I guess.
My boyfriend asked for no tomatoes on his taco salad and they loaded it up with tomatoes. It actually looked delicious, but the only thing that was pleasant about it was the taco shell. He had maybe six or seven bites of it. My scrambled eggs had no flavor at all. And I know what you’re gonna say. “Well, just season it with salt and pepper.” Sorry, but I like my food seasoned and that means actual seasonings. It’s extremely easy to make delicious eggs. I figured the cheddar cheese on top of them might save the situation, but obviously not. The cinnamon French toast was just OK. I LOVE French toast (especially making it which is what I should’ve done today), so I was very disappointed in the lack of quality. The bacon was chewy as hell and had a weird bubbly appearance on parts of it, almost like it got splashed with something. (See pics) We didn’t finish ANY of the food & spent about $40. Still hungry! I decided on an impulse purchase of coconut cream pie and had high hopes. The crust was chewy, and all I tasted was a mouth full of cool whip. Definitely had to be made by them. I spit out the one bite I took which says quite a bit.
Again, I hate having to do this because ultimately it will reflect bad on the business, but you absolutely need to take your sign down outside. It’s misleading and far from the truth, and also the main reason I’m writing this review. I was going to demand my money back, but I’ve decided to just cut my losses. Y’all obviously need the business because you posted a lie on that sign of yours. Thank you for reading and pls do better.

We waited more than that and then were placed in a separate section of the restaurant. Our waiter comes over not enthusiastically as we were curious about all the flight options. It’s really cool of a concept for waffle, soup, and coffee flights. However he was so confused by our question and did not want to explain them after we asked multiple times what do these entail. We also asked about what pancakes our waiter enjoyed best, and he could not even name one option. He asked to look at our menu. We ordered our food, and it took at least 25 minutes. We had to ask for another coffee cup as the mug was not cleaned. Our food finally comes back and it was wrong. I asked for over easy eggs, got scrambled. Our silver dollar pancakes were suppose to come with 11, and we had to ask for 6 more as there were only 5. We had to show them that on their menu it says 11 silver dollar pancakes. More so, how rude is it to ask when paying at the counter to all your customers are you leaving a tip. The reason being “I have to put it into the register for the check to print”. Umm you have a normal receipt! There is a space for your customers to write a tip. Even worse, they know they messed up our orders and experience but did not ask how our meal was… we were sitting right next to the register the whole time and heard you ask every single other customer this question. I don’t know if they just didn’t like our appearance or what, but being sectioned off and given this attitude (and lack of) came...
Read moreA great Greek style family restaurant in a great farming community! One of two in Morris! But Sherwood Oaks has the distinction of being open for dinner. Typical of that style restaurant, they have a million and one items on their menu and the food is really good. Plus, the price verses portion size is a great value. I live in Oswego and I went with a buddy who lives in Morris. We were actually heading to a different restaurant in town that served gyros but discovered that, contrary to what Google said about their hours, they were actually closed. So their loss was definitely Sherwood's gain! My buddy remembered that Sherwood also had a gyro platter. I wanted one too but my internal struggle was that I also wanted breakfast. Imagine my surprise when I discovered their Gyros Omelette with heaps of gyro meat, grilled onions and feta cheese. Served with a generous helping of grilled hash browns with chunks of feta cheese in it and two fluffy pancakes. It was fabulous. The best omelette I've had in recent months! Oddly, my buddy can be a finicky eater and he got his gyro plain without any of the typical toppings that make a gyro, well, a great gyro! No onions tomatoes or tzatziki sauce. Nothin! I mean, come on, who does that! 😆 So I askedthe waitress for his tzatziki sauce which I promptly spread all over my omelette . It made it even better! I'd definitely...
