While looking for parking we stumbled upon this gem of a diner. We had a great server who was so friendly and helpful. The bruschetta was chock full of cheesy goodness on garlic bread with warm fresh tomatoes. Then there was the cheesy bread, on homemade Vienna bread, that was even better tasting if dunked into the homemade marinara sauce. A bit thin but very flavorful. The homemade chili was divine. It was a thick consistency with perfect balance of soft beans and chunks of ground meat in a very flavorful thick broth. The steak sandwich was full of meat and mushrooms. It wasn't easy to grab a hold of so my wife poured the au jus over the sandwich and ate it with a fork and knife. She enjoyed it immensely. The Walleye was beer battered and fried and on a roll. The beer batter was perfectly crunchy and the roll was buttered and got a good crust from the grilltop. The crunch of the beer batter and lettuce, and the flaky fish made for a delicious sandwich. Very delicious with a squirt of lemon and tartar sauce. Worth stopping by for a meal.

Very Poor.. waited for nearly an hour for breakfast. 3 other families were waited on before we were and they arrived after we did. There were only 3 of us. When our food did arrive, pancakes had to be send back, hard, dry, cold and near brunt. I don't know how they'd expected a young child to eat cold burnt pancakes Potatoes and eggs very cold. And Coffee wasn't easily accessable. Was happy to see all day breakfast and homemade toast, but won't waste our time next time. As you can see, I had to pick the good out of the not so edible.

I recently had breakfast at Frank's Place at 123 W Portage Ave, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The restaurant sits downtown and is a very nice place to visit. I ordered a scrambled egg and sausages. The bread was a freshly made sourdough and it was delicious. The quantity was plenty and cooked very well. If you want a nice breakfast before you start your day, this is a place to go to. My server was very nice and pleasant.
