Superior Cafe — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

I wanted to like this place more. We were from out of town and wanted to try their pasties. We ordered two breakfast pasties. It turns out that the gentleman who took our order, took a similar order before us. The other order was one traditional and one breakfast pastie. When they called out the two breakfast pasties, we grabbed them and noticed that the gravy was not included. Instead it was bechamel sauce. When we asked to change the sauce. The lady had somewhat of a come apart. She kept telling the guy who took the order that he didn't stack the containers properly. We explained that all we need is a container of gravy that is already prefilled in a clear cup. She insisted that she correct the other customer's order before she grabbed that prefilled cup. So around five minutes later we were offered the cup. We had already eaten the pasties (which were inbiasedly dry) because they had already gotten cold. When you have issues like that, handle them more discreetly and fix the current issue, as it isn't the customer's fault that it was...

Recently visited the UP for the first time and we stayed in Sault st Marie. We love checking out local coffee shops when we travel and I had planned on checking out new ones each day, but after day 1 we decided this was the spot for the whole trip.

If you like chai you won't be disappointed. I feel like Chai is hit or miss at some places but it's definitely a hit here. The first day I got a dirty chai with oat milk and some of the local maple syrup and it was so good! The next day I ordered a dirty chai with spiced brown sugar and the batista remembered that I got oat milk after only visiting one time! The 3rd day I decided to repeat my order from day 1 because I loved it so much. My partner tried something new each day and loved them all as well. A definite 4-Star rating for this coffee house. Large assortment of Coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, smoothie options to choose from. My wife was in a mood for a nice Coffee whipped with a little ice cream and ice all day and we stopped here just before leaving Sault Ste Marie. She got her coffee and I got a smoothie. They had about 5-6 different smoothie but said they would make a custom one for me when I didn’t see exactly what I wanted. It was great ! Got 4 Chocolate Mocha Truffles as well … they were so rich tasting we could only handle 1 each right then.
