Le Café Gourmet Bakery & Catering — Restaurant in Savannah

Went to a different bakery this morning—won’t say the name. After spending $31 in their dining room, we left. Their plates full our bellies empty. We were feeling VERY disappointed.

I had previously tried one of their pistachio croissants at a farmers market and remembered the gentleman telling me about opening a café, so… we came to this place. And all I can say is—oh my God.

They had free samples of many items out for you to try. NOTHING disappointed.

I ordered an Escargot (a play on words—no snails involved). This tasty treat consists of the flakiest, butteriest puff pastry, filled with tangy goat cheese, salty prosciutto, and sweet fig jam, all rolled up like a snail.

My son got a slice of cheesecake (or should I say, heaven) and a peaches and cream lemonade. We took it to go because the space inside was a bit small. They do have a little café table inside and one outside if you are interested in staying to eat.

We got home, and I tucked in. Oh—it was delicious.

The prices are quite fair for the quality and quantity of the pastries. I will DEFINITELY be returning. Next time, I’m for sure taking home a loaf of sourdough—and maybe even the...

I walked over from the Aldi's when I realized the sign said the store was finally open for business. Unfortunately, I got there just as they were closing, but one of the owners invited me in to show me the store, the menu, and even the kitchen. It's a small, cozy space, but very clean and bright. I received a croissant on the house and it one of the best pastries I've ever had. Definitely going back to try the full menu when they're open!
