I was excited to take my Mom to this place. We walked in the door about 35 min before closing and were not received well. The guy at the counter took our order and when we ordered crepes, he let us know that they stop serving them an hour before closing time. That was kind of a bummer because we came there specifically for that. So, we both ordered the Parisian Sandwich and the bread was rock hard and sandwich super dry. The tables were dirty, so I had to ask the employee at the counter to please clean our table. He did, but definitely with an attitude. Our sandwiches came, and there was no one to be found at the counter. There was another employee on the floor, so I asked if she worked there just to make sure. She did. We explained how awful and dry the sandwich was, and she replied’,” I don’t know, I don’t work in the kitchen.” That was her response. Not, let me talk to someone etc… so, finally the owner came to the table and took the sandwiches off our check. We were not even offered an alternative. Just, I’ll take this off your check. I guess because closing time was more important. Everyone in that place had such a bad attitude and very poor customer service. I will never go back and never ever suggest that restaurant to anyone in Savannah or out of town guests. We had to go to another restaurant for lunch. Awful...
Read more1 person taking orders making coffee, serving and bussing and 1 person in the kitchen . Great place truly, but the service was beyond slow during the brunch rush, the server did AMAZING for the overwhelming amount of demand but they NEED more labor to keep up it's not fair to the customers or employees 2 PEOPLE DOING A 3+ person's jobs is abuse and they deserve better ( THE FOLLOWING IS ADDED AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE) They admit their staff is being overworked and make the excuse of it being a hassle for training or because it was a momentary seasonal Rush. That's small business owner talk for "I can afford to milk my labor for every last drop and don't plan ahead for rushes" that completely ruins the experience and causes customers to leave because of the unreasonable circumstances in overwhelming wait times. I have personal experience in the service industry as a server bartender and chef and can say this approach and work ethic is how businesses fail and people quit. The foundation of any good restaurant are the people who are there making the place run. If you don't treat them with respect and run them into the ground problems are inevitable and people will...
Read moreWe found this cafe while searching for a new place to have lunch in Savannah GA during one of our day trips there. One of the sandwiches had caught the attention of my daughter and niece. While at our table looking over the menus someone walked into the restaurant with a large tan colored dog. Not our preference but its allowed so be it. Our concern grew when we observed that the dog was taken into the back of the restaurant, where the food preparation area is. My wife got up to look and observed the dog roaming freely in the kitchen where the food was being prepared. She watched as one of the workers, while preparing someones food, stopped to pet the dog then continued to prepare the food after wiping their own nose. This worker was not wearing gloves nor did they wash their hands before continuing to prepare someones lunch. Once we saw this we got up and left. I understand restaurants wanting to be dog friendly and allowing owners to bring in the dogs but I cannot believe that having a dog roaming in the food preparation area is allowed, much less petting the dog while preparing food. Needless to say we will not...
