Location / Atmosphere: Amazing! I had so much fun wandering around this Savannah house looking at all the cool little details. Plus our visit happened to be on the One-year anniversary, so there was live music and a commemorative pint glass fill option. The people and dogs were very friendly.
The BEER: Delicious! The two we tried were spot on! We always check out the local breweries when visiting a new city, and these were the best brews we tasted in Savannah. Wish we could have had more.
Why 3 Stars: The female upstairs bartender with short black hair, bangs, and a terrible attitude. When I went up to refill my new glass, I asked if she would top off the last 4 oz of the beer I just had with a different one. I thought the combo would be good. It took roughly two minutes of her condescending irritation before she understood what I was asking for, at which point she said, "that sounds disgusting, but I can do it." I smiled and walked away from her. She single-handedly replaced our excited party vibe with one of, ehem, disgust. We left shortly after.
Speaking as someone with over 10 years of experience in the craft beer industry, you might wanna replace phrases like "that's disgusting" with "I'm not sure what that will be like...let's try it!" Just a suggestion.
Overall: I'd recommend. I would definitely give it another try if we found ourselves...
Read moreShould have posted this review this summer so apologies for the late rave about this brewery...this place is effing awesome! My husband and I planned a Atlanta Braves-Savannah trip and other than amazing morning walks through the historic district, touristy Savannah was lame. Two Tides Brewing saved our trip! A local at one of the restaurants recommended it and after visting two other breweries, who I will not name here, he steered us in the direction of where the locals hang. The brewery itself was so cool as a converted single house with a very unique history. I can't even put into words the praise the beers and the brewing program deserve. We got the largest tasting option they had, which no other brewery does btw-it was like 10 pours or something crazy, and every.single.beer was fantasic, with such interesting and complex flavor. This place rates up there with Burial and Dssolvr IMO. The two girls working the bar were super cool...we sat at the bar and stayed a solid 4+ hours BS'ing with them, and we all even ate pizza together. It was special; love those chicks! (The pizza place behind Two Tides is legit!) My family lives in Charleston area and we WILL be back, sooner rather than later. I hope this review negates some of the DA's that have left less than stellar reviews for this place. They are unwarranted. Pay for the product;...
Read moreWalked in, was there for all of 2 minutes, trying to decide what to order, when the guy "bartending", decided I was loitering and said "if I want to stay I have to order". I fully intended on ordering, just didn’t know what I wanted as I have never been there before. So I left. Wound up getting some of their beer at a liquor store in pooler. Beer was average. Not bagging on their beer because of my experience, but it really was average. Their service though horrible. Just from being there all of two minutes, I can tell what kind of person/people own this establishment. Probably a SCAD alumni who has a background in design and marketing. I've been in Savannah 5 years, and see their stuff everywhere on social media but have never been, as I don't drink often. The owner figured out a way to tap into the SCAD/military market and are simply riding the wave. They care little about how their staff treats their customers (mind you I had done NOTHING besides look at the menu 1 minute too long I guess). It's a gentrification trap and they have flagrant disregard for their broader customer base. -5...
