A Hidden Gem on Plum Grove and Higgins – A Must-Try!
We recently visited this charming restaurant located conveniently on Plum Grove Road and Higgins, with easy access from entrances on both sides of the building (formerly a McDonald’s). It was our first time dining here, and the experience was fantastic from the moment we stepped inside.
The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. When we mentioned it was our first visit, they went out of their way to explain the menu and highlight the house specialties. We started with chips and salsa, and what a treat! They served four varieties of salsa, each made fresh in-house. The flavors were unique and absolutely delicious—some of the best chips and salsa we've had in a while.
For our main dish, we opted for the fajita combo. The staff kindly asked how we preferred the steak, which we appreciated as it showed their attention to detail. When the sizzling fajitas arrived, they didn’t disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The chicken was equally amazing—juicy, well-seasoned, and just as satisfying.
The tortillas were kept warm in a tortilla warmer, which was a nice touch and exactly how I like them served. The sides of rice and beans complemented the meal perfectly. The rice was light and flavorful, and the creamy refried beans rounded out the plate.
The location is just three miles from our house, which makes it even more appealing for a quick and satisfying meal. We can’t wait to come back and try more items from the menu. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out—you...
Read moreCame here for the first time last night and it was delightful! The people were so courteous and let us mix and match meats and beans when we couldn't decide what we wanted. Everything came out beautiful and delicious, the guacamole and chips almost immediately and the entrees in perfect timing after that. SO MANY SALSASSSS and they were really kind to pack us extra to take home with our leftovers. The seating area was welcoming, vibrant and very cozy on a rainy night. Really excited to come back.
We got the guacamole (very good, and I appreciated that it was light on salt) The steak enchiladas with white ponlano sauce (deeelicious. Though after tasting my mom's dish I think I would ask them to throw a bit of chorizo in as well next time, and excited to try their other enchilada sauces) And the burrito bowl with carnitas and chorizo as well as black and refried beans (sooo good, at first thought it was funny that the burrito bowl was serves on a plate, but it actually made for a better eating and...
Read moreWow we were not expecting such an excellent meal in this casual spot. It's fast food style, and the food came out fast, but it was high quality, fresh, and delicious. We started with a little bowl of excellent guacamole. The chips were done perfectly and still warm. We couldn't get enough of the little bowl of red salsa that was presented at the table. There are also four homemade salsas in squeeze bottles you can grab from the fridge. The veggie fajitas came out sizzling and were bright and flavorful. These came with a small stack of tortillas but we were offered more if we wanted. The chicken mole enchiladas were so tasty. Both dishes came with a generous amount of rice and beans plus guacamole and sour cream. The self serve fountain drinks include horchata and a tropical juice blend. The staff were as attentive as if we were in a fine restaurant, which reflects the care they are putting into the food they serve. We live in the city but we would go back to the burbs just to...
