I visited the LA Z BOY Store in Schaumburg Illiniois. The store is very well kept with a wide variety of furniture on display. I was greeted by Alex a store manager. I explained to him what I was looking for and why I chose LA Z BOY. He walked me through the displays to the models I was considering . He is very courteous and knowledgeable about all the furniture. He was patient with me as I sat on all those I was interested in showing me all the features. I found the sofa and loveseat I wanted. I smiled and said they sell themselves. Then he made a suggestion on a feature he thought might help with my bad back. A Lumbar piece. I laughed and said it sells itself. I explained I wanted to make sure the set I chose would fit in my living room. He explained the free Interior Design Consultation offered. He then introduced me to Annie. I told her the basic size of the living room and some colors of fabric I wanted. Having picked out some so she knew what I was looking for we set a day for her to come to my home. She arrived on time and while she was measuring the area I compared the samples of fabric she brought. Narrowing down some she explained several things I would not have thought of. Besides the carpet she held them up against the walls, against other furniture, and even the fireplace. She is an excellent Designer and a pleasure to work with. Once decided she let me hang on to the sample to see how it looked at night since I saw it in daylight. Annie said the furniture I chose would fit and she would put the choices I made into the paperwork and would email me the “out the door price” later that day. She did and an appointment was made to finalize the purchase. From start to finish both Akex and Annie were courteous, extremely knowledgeable. When we walked in, we were greeted by Caroline. She was very kind. Her shift was ending so we looked around and Kendric approached us to offer assistance. I was looking for a couch and loveseat that had a rounded armrest but had trouble finding some on the floor. He pointed out 3 groups that came with rounded armrests and we narrowed it down to the Collins. It was on the showroom as a sectional and we would have never known there was a loveseat or sofa option if Kendric hadn’t shown us! Kendric ran initial price quotes for us while we looked around more. He then brought over Annie, the designer, who brought the experience from a good one to a FABULOUS one!! We brought a paint swatch of the family room and told her the color scheme we were looking for and she pulled a handful of samples and hit the nail on the head with a textured fabric that wasn’t too busy. While walking around while Annie ran the final numbers, I noticed a rug I liked on the floor. Me not having a designer eye at all, Annie advised against it thinking it was too busy to go with the textured pattern. Comparing with the swatches, I agreed. Then she brought me some other rug samples and she suggested one that I absolutely LOVE with a good pattern but pulled all the neutral colors from the sofa fabric. Annie was so patient and worked great with us. Her and Kendric had such positive attitudes. Although the cost was more than I had initially wanted to spend, I feel like I will have a great furniture set and rug and La Z Boy has a great reputation for quality pieces. We bought a Sofa / love seat set. The sofa was delivered first, everything seemed fine until we were outside doing yard work the next day and found what looked like one of the feet off of the sofa. We turned the sofa over and found that none of the feet from the front of the sofa were put on. We had luckily put the sofa on an area rug or would have potentially scratched the new floor we had just finished putting in. We called the customer support number and complained that the persons delivering should have noticed they were missing and wanted the issue resolved ASAP. After calling several times and waiting 10 to 15 mins to get through we were told that they would send us the feet but in total it would be 5 days . I was hoping to have before the holiday but looks like we were out of luck. Since we had reported the issue the day after receipt I thought that we should be able to return since at the store we were told we had 3 days to change our minds. The CS manager I spoke to on the phone said that the 3 days was only for exchanging and would include a 30 % restocking fee. This was not mentioned when we purchased at the store. We bought from La-Z-Boy because we wanted quality, but when I mentioned to the Customer Service manager that we received a defective sofa, she stated "It is not defective, only missing parts" to me that is the same thing but I figured others can learn from my mistake.
