McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

I very rarely give 5 stars to any place. I mean like very rare. I am giving 5 stars because i loved this place.

So, i was here like an hour ago got out the gym was craving a salad, searched on maps and i saw mcalister’s with good rating and i decided to go here. I entered the place with the staff greeting me which was very good. I walked up to the counter and there was this Ukrainian lady/girl who helped me alot. I said i am new here and i am very specific with my salads so she politely helped me for 10-12 mins.

Then i sat on the table which is very clean and tidy. They brought my salad to my table and i started munching. While ordering i remember explicitly addressing that i don’t need any sort of meat in my order but i still had chicken, i had no problem, i wasn’t upset or angry or disappointed its okay mistakes happen sometimes i would’ve been very disappointed if the service was not good but its one of the best i’ve ever seen. I walked to the counter again with my plate and briefed them on the situation and i asked them if they can just pick out the meat and give me my plate back. You know i don’t want no free salad but there was another lady she was like the manager she told me we can’t take your plate because of contamination purposes so it’s a win win. Careful about hygiene and they gave me another salad without meat.

They kept checking on me every 10 mins to see if everything was fine with me which again is amazing. Mistakes can be forgiven or ignored if the service is amazing. I tried my best to rate 4 stars but i am an honest reviewer so i can’t i have to rate 5 stars.

The reason i mentioned the mistake here is that even if something goes wrong with your order here you will not be DISSATISFIED. At many places my order was messed up and nothing came up from the staff of other places to satisfy me.

I am very grateful for the service i got and for the food. Will definitely come back here. Especially the staff is very polite, friendly, helpful and caring. Good staff and employees are very important in any business. Salute to all the employees working here and i would suggest an increase for the Ukrainian and the hijaabi girl. The manager girl was amazing too but i think she earning pretty good already plus she seemed experienced in the customer service field.

We need more businesses like this. Great job guys 👏.

People call me a critical reviewer because it’s very hard to get a review like this from me but these people made it easy. I always rate 3 or 4 stars i believe 5 stars is only for exceptional places like this.

I really enjoyed the experience here last Sunday. I got a 12 inch Italian sandwich which was ok. It needed a ooompf to it to make it over the top. But I will say, unlike other places that load up on bread and veggies, McAlister's Deli gives you a solid 1.25 - 1.5 inches of nice sliced deli meat for your buck. And the price is about what you'd pay anywhere. For what you get in terms of substance, the price is well worth it. I would definitely come back.

The one side note - and this is not meant to criticize negatively, just food for thought - the manager was tooooo talkative and wanting to have a conversation as soon as our food arrived. Like yo, were starving and the food literally just was brought out by you. Give us a second to eat. She was very gracious and kind, refilled my coke without asking a number of times. So just my .02 cents. Nice woman, just needs to understand boundaries a bit I guess. Again, I will be back.

Want a quality sandwich? Hit McAllister’s Deli. I ordered the New Yorker which consists of their corned beef and hot pastrami. The sandwich was served on marble rye. This choice was a real surprise. I didn’t expect to be able to get a bunch of flavor profiles out of one sandwich. The pastrami was bold and well seasoned and had a nice peppercorn finish, while the corned beef was savory but not too fatty or greasy as some delis would serve it up. The sandwich is topped with a creamy Swiss cheese and a brown mustard. The meat is piled high on this one as well. My only complaint would be that the sandwich could’ve used more mustard, but given what was served to me it really wasn’t a complaint but more of an observation. I had a side of mustard potato salad with my sandwich and it was a great choice. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, and sliced in nice good sized chunks. The mustard was not at all overpowering but was balanced perfectly with an equal amount of mayonnaise. Overall this experience was one of the best I’ve had in the Schaumburg area. I highly...
