McDonald's — Restaurant in Schererville

On September 28th, 2024, at precisely 2:37 pm CST, I received some of the worst service at the Schererville Indiana McDonalds location from the girl working the counter having the crappiest attitude ever!

I ordered a SIMPLE 6-piece McNugget Happy Meal, with a small frozen drink & a large fry over the app.

I arrived there & showed the girl at the counter my phone to let her know that I was there to pick up the food. She looked at the phone like it was foreign & proceeded to struggle with fulfilling my order...& STILL forgot the large fry!!! WOW! I had to go back to ask for it!

To top it off, I went back to the counter AGAIN to ask for a different toy... without missing a beat that SAME GIRL immediately told me to my face that it was the only toy they had! LIAR!!!

I tried to play it cool & wait for her to leave the counter to possibly ask someone else to help me (& possibly order more food from a competent person), but I was ignored multiple times! I counted at least FIVE other people behind the counter attempting to act "busy" & avoiding eye contact!

Finally, on the way out, I went up to the counter & asked to speak to the manager. That SAME GIRL rolled her eyes & got the manager. I told the manager the whole story (including the part where she lied about not having a different toy) & the manager chuckled to herself. I told her that (1) I worked at a McDonalds before so I knew she was lying, (2) I would not be coming back to this location, & (3) I wanted a different toy!

The manager attempted a weak excuse that they get a shipment on Tuesday so that they may not have a different toy... She then reached into the 1st open box on the counter & immediately pulled out a different toy! When she handed it to me I replied, "That's all I ask for - thank you for ACTUALLY LOOKING!"

WOW!!!! worst McDonalds crew...

Jun 17th 2021.: This restaurant is getting better and better. McDonald's food has taste finally , all of their coffee drinks also, especially if you add some kick with an extra espresso shot!

I like their Iced Macchiato, frozen Coke,double cheeseburger , apple and strawberry pies... chicken nuggets are decent lately, also.

Orders delivered through DoorDash are nicely packaged, every time more and more accurate, no miss even with some customization of sandwiches, which in some other places are not honored. McD pleasantly surprised me! /////////

Good hazelnut cappuccino, coffee in general and fish sandwich. Decent place to sit in for a meal. That's about it for my tastebuds in any McD

This place doesn't make their most expensive signature sandwiches at 10:45pm!!!!!! I got that answer tonight on their drive thru... God knows when they actually stop serving it. How is that possible ? Why do you advertise them so harshly then, at all?!! Why are you OPEN 24 ?! 🤐

So Mc Donald's try to upscale their business goes to waste.. So pathetic.

Probable reason for this idiotic behavior is more work required with new and fresher menu items, but no employee is willing to work better and proper, because they do not pay their employees enough for that work on larger scale, which comes with the fact that company goes healthier way with their food offerings and competes with better run competitor's companies.

Cannot believe this is the way one of the largest companies in the world is run!

Updated 06/19/22: Lobby and restrooms have been remodeled to a more modern look. Visited during the afternoon, staff was attentive and friendly. The fish sandwich I had was warm, tasted fresh and I would order it here again. I've updated my star rating to 3 stars (from 2) and will visit again in the future to see if further rating increases are warranted. 👍

Compared to other local McDonald's locations, the Schererville location is "just okay" and often barely that.

Their sign out front advertises "Open 24 Hours" (for the drive-thru)... However, I've arrived at 2AM with employee vehicles present in the parking lot, all of the Drive-Thru menuboard lights turned off, the order screen illuminated and no response to my repeated verbal inquiries of "Hello? Are you open?"

The meals I've experienced here only rarely contain items that I would describe as fresh, despite 10+ minute long waits; the quality controls just don't seem to be in place.

Whenever I think about grabbing some cheap and quick McDonald's, I try to avoid this location, gladly driving the extra few minutes down US 30 to the Dyer, IN, McDonald's location. Dyer's coffee tastes THEE best, their food is usually fresh and there's an older gentleman, traditionally wearing a black, flat cap, who has phenomenal customer...
