I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch and placed my order over the phone. The associate who took my order had a bit of a language barrier, which made it difficult to clarify whether rice was included with the entrees. Some Indian restaurants, including one nearby, require you to purchase rice separately, so I wanted to make sure I had just the right amount—not too much, but also not none at all. The associate told me rice was not included.

I was quoted a 25-minute wait time, so I arrived at the restaurant exactly 25 minutes later. The restaurant was empty, and there was no one at the front to greet me. After calling out “hello?” a few times with no response, I decided to call the restaurant. I could hear the phone ringing inside, and after a while, an associate finally appeared and told me there would be a wait. I then waited an additional 20 minutes in the empty restaurant before finally receiving my meal.

When I got home, I opened my order and found three containers of rice—despite being told it wasn’t included. So just a heads-up: rice does come with your meal, and there’s no need to order extra. Unfortunately, I ended up wasting money on unnecessary rice.

That said, the restaurant was nicely decorated, and my meal...

**Update to Royal Dine's response: My one star review stands. Why would the waiter turn the point of sale screen for an additional tip if automatic gratuity has already been added to the check? Very disingenuous. It also took me writing a bad review for them to offer a refund, because when I called they refused to make this right. Thankfully my credit card issued a full refund. Think twice before coming here. Food is not great and service is worse.

The opposite of "royal"- who wants to dine under bright fluorescent lights and huge flat screen tvs? I digress, because this is the least of Royal Dine's problems. The main reason for this review is how scammy they are in adding an 18% gratuity tip to your bill without providing an itemized receipt. When one goes up to the counter to pay, they don't mention this and you tip again, resulting in a 40% tip for the most subpar service you'll ever receive.

Upon calling them in an effort to rectify the situation, they refused to refund the duplicate tip. No problem, I will dispute it with my credit card company and will never return.

Unethical business practices-stay far way...

From the moment we stepped into Royal Dine Restaurant, we were transported into a realm where traditional Indian cuisine meets contemporary excellence. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with elegant decor and a soothing background melody of Indian music that perfectly set the stage for the culinary adventure that awaited us.

The service was impeccable. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with expert recommendations that catered perfectly to our tastes and dietary preferences. Each dish was presented with a detailed explanation of its ingredients and the region it originated from, adding a lovely personal touch to our dining experience.

Royal Dine isn't just a restaurant; it's a vibrant celebration of Indian culture and gastronomy. Each dish is a testament to the chefs' mastery over their craft, delivering an authentic yet innovative dining experience. This is a place where every visit guarantees a journey for the senses, and I suggest your next visit to this...

Best Indian food in Decatur, GA! Some of my favorite dishes were the rotting and the butter chicken! They also have a bar so you can come here for a girls night out💋 @Royal Dine

Let’s start with the good. The atmosphere is really nice, it was not busy and looked amazing. Great music choices, but was very loud for a quiet night. Also, the staff seemed really nice. Now to the iffy parts. We ordered the traditional paneer and dal makhani from the Punjabi menu, and it is definitely not authentic. It was filled with ghee (truly Punjabi-like in that sense) and the flavours were average at best. Special mention to the paneer as it did not taste like a paneer butter masala, just some random paneer gravy. Dal makhani was decent in comparison, however. In addition, you have to physically tell them when you are ready to order (which is weird for a seemingly fancy restaurant) and our rice took forever to get (at which point our food was cold). Overall, not the worst experience but there’s definitely better in nearby Patel Plaza.

Took my family for birthday dinner here. Since we never had non veg from this restaurant, we went to try it out. Ordered some appetizer, tried chili chicken and chicken lolipop: not sure what was in it but the same sauce for both didn’t taste right. Lolipop were very chewy, looked like they were premade n refried them. Lot of food coloring. Entrees were alright. Wouldn’t try non-veg food from here. I been to this restaurant many times for veg items n they r top notch food. Don’t think it’s meant for nonveg item.
