I won’t be back to this location of CAVA…don’t get me wrong…the Steak Harissa bowl I ordered was beyond delicious. My friend had hyped up this restaurant so I decided to try it for the first time! I was excited coz it sounded amazing!
It was the very rude and low-energy staff who did not acknowledge me for over 15 minutes of arriving at the location.
I ordered online which was very user-friendly. I paid $22 for my order which was to be ready by 8pm. Perfect I finished work at 7.45pm and headed over to CAVA on Scottsdale road.
I literally stood there for 15 minutes before I began to get annoyed at the bad customer service. I approached the sulky girl at the register and said “Where do I pick up my order from please?” She goes “Here”! No hello; no smile; no friendly anything!
So I tell here my name and expect that she will hand me my order…it is now 8.15pm!
She goes to the back and I see her grab a ticket and give it the other very sullen person who o guessed prepared the orders. Now I’m angry…they haven’t even started my order so I say “excuse me, my order was ready at 8pm””. That’s the email I received.” She says “well we are doing it now coz we’re running behind”. What ! No apology, no acknowledgement of THEIR incompetence; instead she made me feel as though it was MY fault they were running behind!
I step back…ok I’m here and I’ve paid so I had to wait! If I was a walk in I would have walked out because of the three people behind the counter. I couldn’t believe the level of rudeness.
I work in customer service and would never treat someone walking into my establishment no matter the reason, like I was treated … ever!
She gets my bag and walks over to me and hands it to me…no “I’m sorry you had to wait” no anything not even a thank you for coming in!
Something told me to check my order…and just as I thought there was no tahini Caesar or garlic sauce as I had ordered! Oh no now I have to speak to this rude person again.
It is now 8.25pm! I’m so done at this point but I don’t have my full order. So I go back to the counter and she’s now serving someone but I did interrupt her and said “My sauces are not in my bag”.
She didn’t even look at me and says “what were they?” I didn’t hear her so said “excuse me?” She goes “What were they?” So I tell her. She grabs the plastic containers, dispenses the sauces and rudely gives them to me without a word! I left at that point. I had also ordered the pita chips and they weren’t in the bag but there was no way I was going back in there! I must mention that the other girl had forgotten something for another patron and she brought them to him (he was standing right next to me) and she “tossed” the condiments into his bag!!!! Omg! So rude.
Come on guys…really? If you don’t want to be there find another job because you and your awful attitudes will destroy this business which would be a shame because the food is awesome.
Sorry CAVA…but this is not ok on any level, especially because you have so much competition around you. The experience begins and ends with good, kind customer service so that ruined the experience for me. I ate my meal after 9.00pm as I live in Mesa… I may try your Mesa location but I won’t be back to the Scottsdale...
Read moreI have been to this location previously many times, and haven’t had anything bad to say about it, but it has been awhile. Unfortunately, a review calls for at least one star. This place deserves 0, negative 5 stars. First of all, when you walk in, the vibe is off and the workers look pissed to even see you step foot in their establishment. They also all look new, I recognized no one and no one looked like they knew what to do. Once I got to the counter, the worker didn’t even acknowledge me, just grabbed a cheap bowl that got soggy along with my food, and waited for me to state what I wanted. The portions are ridiculous for what you pay and the service doesn’t make up for it. I was given maybe three pieces of chicken and the worker refused to add more and said it would be an up charge, seriously?? I got to the cashier who looked like she’d rather stick pins in her eyes, rung me up, and walked to the back. I was left standing there, astonished. Ridiculous! I get home to eat my bowl as I am starving after my 9-5 job, and I begin to dig through to see what looked like a maggot. I was going to let this barnyard explosion of an establishment slide, but this drew the line. This is place is disgusting, unsanitary, unfriendly, and lazy. Where are all of the dedicated cava employees who actually look like they want to work and get the job done. I am...
Read moreUpdate: CAVA is decent fresh food. However, this particular location has issues. Tonight, the black lentils in my bowl were plentiful and uncooked. How does that happen? I told the kid (it seems as though all employees are kids who are not well trained and personalityless), who said, "OH, I'll let them know." Coming back, she said that she didn't know what to do, except make me a new bowl if I wanted. I didn't want to wait, so I fished around the little black uncooked lentils and ate. As I was leaving, I checked the lentils to see if they were removed or cooked. Nope. Same uncooked black lentils. The fountain juices were loaded with unappealing foam. No reason for any of this. My husband won't go back and I probably won't either. The first thing I noticed was the spaciousness and cleanliness of CAVA. The next thing was the fact that I had to be in and out in 45 min. The line was 28 people (fantastic for CAVA). Behind the counter, 2 and 1 guy working like a dog trying to keep up in the back - chopping and dicing. . Not good but so hard working! Got my order, sitting g with enough time to write my review. The chicken and right rice bowl was great - fresh, tons of flavor, decent size and priced right! All in all, delicious but please get more help to help out your hard...
