This restaurant has a great vibe and a lot of potential, but my visit left me with mixed feelings. Let:a start with the positives. The atmosphere is trendy and inviting, with flat screens TVs throughout the dining area that makes it a fun spot to watch a game or hang out with friends. The menu offers plenty of variety, with everything from burgers and sliders to shareable appetizers and cold beer on tap. Another detail that stood out is the restrooms were spotless, which isn't something I find at every restaurant these days. Service was easily the highlight of the evening. Our server was attentive , personable, and quick to check in on us. Drinks were refilled promptly, and any issues were addressed immediately and with a smile . The staff deserves credit for their professionalism and hospitality.
Food- wise, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. As a Chicago native, I had to try the sliders, and they were fantastic- juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The burger and fries were also enjoyable, and the beer was ice- cold and refreshing. The disappointment came with the nachos. My dinner companion who does not do well with dairy , specifically asked for the sour cream to be on the side. When the nachos first arrived , the sour cream has been incorporated throughout the dish. Our server quicky apologized and rushed the plate back to the kitchen. The second attempt was not much better the sour cream was on the side this time , but the cheese was cold. Once again, the staff handled it graciously , but by the time the nachos finally arrived hot and melty, more the. 49 minutes had passed. At the point my sliders were already gone, and my companion had been snacking on them just to hold over his hunger not the best dinner scenario . In the end, the nachos were delicious when prepared correctly, but the delay threw off the meal. In fairness, the final dish tasted great, and the staff handled the mistakes with professionalism and grace. Although I was expecting a discount for the inconvenience . Still, repeated missteps with food preparation can be frustrating, especially when it involves dietary request or sensitivity regarding allergies . Patrons with food allergies or restrictions should be aware and may need to double- check that there request are communicated clearly to the kitchen. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for it's atmosphere , friendly staff, and tasty sliders. With a little more detail in the kitchen it could move from good to excellent. Thank you to the staff for your kindness, professionalism, and patience in correcting the order with a smile. It did not...
Read moreThis review is not meant for the Scottsdale location but since cold beers and cheeseburger can't update their location settings I'll leave it here. This review is for the new Paradise Valley location. My mother is in town from Illinois and we went to the Paradise Valley location last night with my brother his wife and his three-year-old kid For our last dinner before she leaves to go back to Illinois. This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant. It took almost a 1/2 hour just to get a beer. The waitress took our order which was very simple they were all build your own burgers except for my three-year-old nephew who just had a hot dog and French fries. It took almost 45 minutes for us to get 4 hamburgers and then they forgot my nephews hot dog and French fries. The waitress finally came back and realized that she forgot to put the order in so she told me it would take 5 minutes well 15 min later We finally got his hot dog that was scolding hot that he couldn't even eat. Then our lovely waitress who couldn't pay attention to what she was doing had plates full of food and tried to go out on the patio and ran into the window spilling the sauce down the window and on the floor and never cleaned it up. Also when you are a waitress or waiter you are expected to take care of the table not take an order and ignore the table and have some random guy start bringing out food that has no idea who ordered what. And at the beginning of all this the hostess were very rude and the place was nothing but chaos. Now the food was decent but they did overcook my hamburger. They also took the hot dog off the bill which I would expect would happen but when you're spending over a $150 on your bill I would expect a lot better service than this. We will not be back to this location to eat again. Very pistoff and very disappointed. I recommend you stay away from this location. Maybe more training for your new staff...
Read moreLet's start with the positive here...Liberty is a fantastic bartender. While dining last night (at the bar top), she and her bar-back single handedly dominated the dinner service. Kudos to Liberty!
The extreme negative...While dining at the bar, my guest and I were in a very simple need for a rollup (silverware). We gestured to a server standing less than two feet away and politely asked her for assistance. She looked up from her cell phone, and proceeded to dismissively tell us our bartender "would get it for us". For those who have yet to have the pleasure of dining at Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, let me please elaborate as to where the silverware was in relation to the server.....less than 12 inches away.
Normally, my guest and I would never bring this to a manger's attention, but we felt the need. When we politely addressed this with the manager, it was very obvious that our concerns were falling on deaf ears. For instance, he did not even ask which server was so inherently rude to us.
As someone who hold a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, and worked within the restaurant industry for 6 years, I found this level of service, or lack there of, truly unfortunate. Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers caters to an upscale bar crowd. This level of management would not even pass in McDonalds.
For reference:
Liberty: Wonderful and attentive bartender
Danielle: A terribly rude and lazy server
Roy: A completely inept employer with terrible managerial and...
