I have been going to this Hayden location for over 25 years, and tonight was our last. We had a large party of 20 friends to send my son off to NYC. The bar was crowded and we waited hours for a table by the bar and side location. Bearing the heat, we eventually went to the outside patio as the children were hungry as were the adults. No one ever came to take a food order, though the rude manager did push through the children in annoyance multiple times as we waited. At 7:01 a server finally came out to us after multiple requests to have service. The server admitted it was her first day, and apologized as that was not her area, though she was willing to help. We asked if we were still under happy hour, and she told us we just missed it. We explained that we were there since 6 without service, and felt they should honor the happy hour prices. The server went to consult a manager, and informed us that they would honor our first round of drinks and food under happy hour prices. We were not given menus, and had to ask for them. At that time we also had to ask for happy hour menu, to which the server apologized and bought one out to us, which reiterated we were offered the happy hour pricing. We placed our order for the large party close to 7:49, as it took that long to obtain permission to order off happy hour. Our food didn’t arrive until way after 8, with starving children and adults alike. By the time we finally ate. We were the last two tables on the north side of the restaurant, and we asked for our bill, as my son had a plane to catch. When the bill came, we were charged full price and not the happy hour prices we were promised. We questioned our server and she said, oh my gosh I am sorry, I will go and take care of it. She was gone for quite some time as we waited with sleepy children a flight to make. Upon her return, we were told “ watching video footage of our arrival” they would not honor the pricing. We were insulted, accused of fraudulent behavior and treated like we did something wrong while being held hostage for your incompetent manager to watch video footage! While we waited, your staff was telling us how horrible your manager is and that this is the reason your turn over is so high. I sincerely hope the minimal savings to your establishment in reneging on your promise to honor the happy hour pricing is worth Losing 5 families of 20+ years of Patronage. Customer service is obviously not a concept familiar to your management. And by the way…my son missed his flight due to being retained by you...
Read moreOnce again, other google reviewers fail. That, and it's good to keep in mind that most people in Scottsdale don't realize they have bad service cause they are used to it. Beyond the bad service, this place was awful in every way.
Went for a work/lunch outing. The person who set it up was rather embarrassed. Service was VERY slow. Was 30 minutes just to get our drinks. My martini which I ordered dry and dirty came with no olives but had some flakes/pieces of olives in it. When I asked where the olives were, they server looked pretty annoyed and came back with 2 tiny olives on a stick and plopped them in my drink. Nice.
I ordered a taco salad which was 90% iceberg lettuce, some ground beef, sour cream and salsa with stale chips. That was it. Not even olives. I think I found one or two pieces of onion. Others in group complained of soggy french fries and bread and just all around bad tasting food which took a good hour to get to our table.
We all asked for second drinks as well, none of which ever showed up. 2 hours later we left to go the game and the Salt River Flats via their buss service. Which btw - is a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and walk. Even if you are 70 yrs old and going at a snails pace, you will beat the buss by 30 minutes or more.
One more thing, although kind of amusing was also tacky: The bathroom walls had sports newspapers posted above urinals that clearly had double meanings:
"Keeping Rockets relevant boosts Harden MVP case"
Really? Cute. But maybe work on your terrible food and service...
Read moreFirst time there, and not really sure how this place stays open. We went with four people one whom does not drink alcohol and therefore was our designated driver. The place was no where near crowded and I was speaking with the patron at the bar next to me when he was informed he could no longer be served because he met his limit. He seemed stone cold sober to me and told me he was a regular and came there often. I told him that if I was him, I would not come back here anymore if I was treated that way. He ended up leaving and said he’ll go drink somewhere else. I did feel bad for him and for the bartender because she stated it’s the restaurant policy. I’m not sure how she is supposed to make tips when they limit the amount of alcohol they can serve ESPECIALLY on a slow day. Anyway, the other bartender just seemed miserable and made a rude comment to us when we asked her if she could change the television channel. If I was the bartender, I would try my best to be as kind and accommodating as possible knowing my tips depended on it. Apparently she could care less with her poor attitude. At that point, we should have left, but we stayed and ate. The food was actually pretty good. However, we eventually got told we were no longer able to order alcohol and no, I am not talking about their...
