Marguerite Lake — Attraction in Scottsdale

This lake caught my eye while driving. Very nice and expansive, and scenic. However, I was unable to find an official parking lot, so I just ended up parking by the Mercado Mall- about a 3 minute walk to the lakeside. There was not a loop trail around said lake as I would have thought. It was a slightly meandering trail along the left side that extended for about 10 minutes one way, and on the right side there were private residences and boats docked there. The only thing is this lake does not have a very nature-y feel. In front of you, you see the busy hubbub of the street and to your left, you see the backside of the stores at the Mercado Mall. Beautiful, out of the way place to do a little fishing! If you walk along the north side along the condos, you can fish off the cement incline. Go early in the morning around sunrise and into the first part of the morning for the best chances of catching something. I've caught bass, bluegill, and channel catfish here. Had a wonderful time walking the lake with the family! Weather was beautiful! Next time we will be bringing bread to feed the ducks and maybe even a couple of fishing poles.
