Cosmo's — Restaurant in Scranton

I have not been here in some time and was really surprised that they had removed almost all the seating which I thought was kinda strange and not a good business decision. When they first opened, we lived closer and used to eat there in the RESTAURANT A LOT. Now there isn't even one booth left, just a couple high stools at an equally high counter. It certainly isn't appropriate for anyone who is handicapped and that angered me. The person at the counter was friendly and helpful, definitely no complaints there. In fact she helped me decide what to get and since we couldn't eat there, we were forced to wait n take it home. I have terrible arthritis and there was NO WAY I was getting on a stool so I had to sit on a game chair. The price was a bit too steep for me but we took it home and because we didn't live close, unfortunately it was cold. Bummer. As for the cheese steak, while it could have had far more meat for the price ( I would recommend they get one at Bobbyos in Dupont to see what a cheese steak should REALLY look like!!!) I will say it was delicious! I don't know where they get the buns but definitely one of the freshest most delicious buns on a steak hoagies ever! So while I am very disappointed that we can't eat there in the winter because of no interior tables, they do have outside ones. But I like my subs hot n fresh so I can't imagine I'll be back until possibly we can sit outside. I will say again. I don't know whose BRILLIANT IDEA it was to gut the place and remove all the seating but it really wasn't smart. People enjoy eating out and they need a place to sit INDOORS approximately 7 months out of the year in Scranton. You should really reconsider having interior seating because while we enjoyed our subs,we didn't like them cold and honestly there was not one other customer in the place and it was dinner time. Very clean, great atmosphere, friendly and fast service!!

This was our first time trying out Cosmo's Cheesesteaks and it made me wonder why we hadn't tried it sooner!!

I got the new menu items: boneless porketta wing bites and fire sticks (mozz sticks with hot sauce) ~ I could eat those wing bites every day!! And while the idea of hot sauce on cheese sticks sounds like a great idea, they got soggy super quick....I would order them again, but maybe with the sauce on the side to dip.

Hubby got an order of cajun fries and a cheesesteak wit wiz & american but witout onions. He said both were very good, fries were cooked to perfection and the steak, cheese and bun were all fresh and tasty.

Daughter got the chicken tenders & fries, again fries were cooked perfectly and the chicken tendies were crisp & delicious (she also said the ranch dipping sauce was drinkable!)

Our first time trying Cosmos today, on a Sunday afternoon. I went with the cheesesteak with fried onions, sweet peppers,and American cheese. Great sandwich. Plenty of meat, cheese was ample, and the soft roll was fantastic. Ordered Cajun cheese fries, and specifically told the young lady on the phone, cheese wiz on them. I was very disappointed when I got home and opened them, that it was just the Cajun seasoning, and no cheese at all on them. My wife went with a pizza steak with provolone cheese. She was a little disappointed that there was very little pizza sauce on her sandwich. She did love her Volcano fries though. Just a final thought, the young lady working the front side of the store was extremely miserable and unfriendly. Maybe she was just having a bad day. So to sum it up, some good and some bad. We I’ll go back for another try, and hopefully my 3 stars can then...
