So, setting reasonable expectations, it is a Friday evening. I sat at a table and watched the bartender and staff members manage to walk past me and the person at the table behind me without so much of a concern. After almost 20 minutes the person left, I went to the bar, explained excessive wait, waitress, China stated, yeah sorry but we kinda don't have a hostess so, I'll bring you a menu...15 minutes later she never arrives with a menu. Poor customer service will always ruin the atmosphere. I will never understand how just a tiny bit of coaching can teach/guide an employee how not to make poor excuses for poor service and just apologize and try to do better. Moving on, I go back to the bar,(15min elapsed)speak with a waiter, and now the reward for asking for service after 35+ minutes is having to sit here listening to John explain to me how I should have gone up to the bar like the other tables. I must note John apologized, it seemed sincere. So I understand him being overwhelmed. I noticed that the staff had to call the credit card company each card purchase for approval. There is a cascade effect, employee losing time on the phone for each card purchase, slower service, poor tips for slow service and lower ratings. They really need a card scanner, per one guest this has been an ongoing issue. Thats poor leadership on the management, they are effectively costing thier employees money(tips) and causing customers to leave(walk acrossthe street). I believe the manager Paul should or could remedy this issue and it appears he is aware, but is not engaged as this issue doesn't affect salaried staff. Paul, do better. Lead from the front and show your team you...
Read moreI guess I might have had a bad experience. Maybe I just ordered the wrong meal. Possibly it was an off night.
It was unclear from the beginning the etiquette to either wait to be seated or just sit anywhere you wanted. No one at the bar seemed to care. Wait staff didn’t seem to know how to even work tables. Our waitress didn’t seem to know right from left. And after taking our order, they left the menus on the table for the entire evening (and yes they were reusing them).
Ordered an appetizer and main meals. A couple received their food before us when they had sat down after us. They ordered the same appetizer as we did. So possibly a mistake there (or our waitress didn’t put in our order). Then all our food came out at once. The wings? Meh. They are pieces of chicken breast that are “fried” and covered in hot sauce. Not really worth it. I ordered the burnt ends sandwich with fried onions on top. You can see the remnants of a poor sandwich in the picture. The bread and onions were stale. Outside of roll was hard. Onions were blergh. The meat probably tasted good because of the BBQ sauce they threw on there. Sadly, the fries were the only saving Grace...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel above and thought PJ’s 1910 Pub would be a convenient place, so we visited three times. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.
On our second visit, the waiter’s attitude was extremely rude from the start. He kept us waiting, took our order incorrectly twice, and even served food items I’m allergic to. A burger came with the wrong ingredients, and a pizza order was doubled without us asking. His behavior was unprofessional, and he was openly making comments with other guests about us, which was very uncomfortable.
On our last visit, we went around 10 PM just for a drink. The place was listed as open until 11 PM, but the same waiter told us we are closing, clearly just not wanting to serve us. After speaking with the hotel manager, we were accommodated, but again the same unpleasant behavior continued. Other guests were looking at us strangely, as if influenced by the staff.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable. We truly don’t understand what we did wrong to deserve this. Very disappointing experience, and I would not...
