My friend recommended this to me while visiting them up in Seattle.
It’s location is a huge plus to it! There were lots of new apartments and store fronts going up around it, and it is a short walk from both Capitol Hill and First Hill. It’s also near a main road, but not right on it so that it is still quiet while having lots of customers.
The storefront is also very well set up- it has large floor to ceiling windows that light up the whole store front. The decor is also modern and not too busy. There is store specific merch for sale in a conveniently placed location too, so while waiting for your drink, you’ll definitely be looking. The drink prep area is also very clean and well laid out.
There was only one staff member at the time (around 10AM on a Sunday morning) and there should have been more staff for sure (a larger group came just as I was leaving). The staff member did not seem stressed by the lack of coworkers, was laid back, and knowledgeable when I asked questions.
The menu isn’t too large, which is nice, since you know that what they offer they do well in and don’t need to offer a million different items that are okay. I like to ask staff what they would recommend. I tried an iced sweet macchiato and it was delicious! The flavoring in it definitely didn’t taste cheap and it also was subtly sweet. The espresso was very smooth as well.
If I was a local, I would definitely give this place a try next time I’m on a walk out in the...
Read moreHeaded to Avole to try out their espresso and get a bag of beans after reading about them on multiple blogs. The decor was nice and quaint with artwork on the walls. I got a shot of espresso, an iced oatmilk latte, and a bag of their medium roasted beans.
The espresso was well balanced but not offered with seltzer to cleanse the palate like most other roasters. The latte was nice but there wasn't enough body to it, maybe the hot latte would be better here.
As I liked the espresso, I reached for the Ibex medium roasted beans to take home and this was the most disappointing part of the experience. The beans were a very dark roast and no matter the grind size or the method of brewing, they produced an overly bitter cup. The characteristics of the Yirgacheffe weren't highlighted at all and I'd probably have been better off with a bag of coffee from a grocery store. Might visit again for their espresso if I'm in the area but definitely not...
Read moreMy friends and I had such a pleasant time visiting Alove CD Café while spending the day in Seattle. The café is set right along the road, making it an easy stop for a quick drink or a light bite. There’s a small covered patio outside, plus a bar counter and cozy tables inside.
It was a warm, lovely day, and we treated ourselves to a seasonal lavender drink—it was refreshing and delightful. Moments like this remind me how beautifully we are created, able to enjoy life’s simple joys like good flavors and meaningful conversation with friends. For that, my friends and I are deeply grateful to our loving Creator, Jehovah, who truly wants life to be a source of happiness Ecclesiastes 5:18 «This is what I have seen to be good and proper: that one should eat and drink and find enjoyment for all the hard work at which he toils under the sun during the few days of life that the true God has given him, for that...
