The best donut experience! I heard about Doughjoy through a gluten free Seattle Facebook group and am so glad I did! The staff was so sweet and so friendly, the atmosphere is absolutely adorable and those donuts are so so cute! They are vegan too, which is great for people who have both gluten sensitivities and also dairy, which can be tough to accommodate both. They have the regular donuts in a little display area at the front, but they keep the gluten free ones behind so they stay away from the gluten ones. I got several of the GF for myself, and then a dozen of the regular to bring to my work and my coworkers were all obsessing over them! I loved the GF ones so much, they had a great variety of flavors and it was nice to see ones other than just your typical powdered or chocolate. The lemon was delicious!!!! I let the staff pick the dozen for my work, and they selected a perfect assortment, and even explained to me what they were so I could tell my coworkers. They also included a donut in the dozen that they said the proceeds were going towards a local black owned business. The owners are super active on socials and seem like such nice people. The staff seemed genuinely happy to work there! There is a little parking lot next to then Capitol Hill location, but also a few garages around as well. Thank you Doughjoy for bringing me some serious joy! Photo attached is of regular gluten donuts, the GF are a bit more...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreBUYER BEWARE... you will never want donuts from anywhere else again. To simply compare Dough Joy to other vegan donuts isn't doing it a shred of justice. As an almost 3-year vegan, I can't recall any time before this when I was this taken even by a non-vegan donut shop. Dough Joy isn't afraid to experiment with their confectionery, crafting interesting and innovative icings other donut shops dare only muse about, and they do it well. They also have mainstays when you just want something more comfortable, like the "Basic B" (essentially a vegan crispy creme), chocolate, or strawberry. The rotating flavors sometimes create this sort of "FOMO", which may be intentional or just a caveat of the rotating menu. But it also keeps things interesting and a sure treat for adventurous eaters. One way or the other, the same base dough is reliably fluffy and decadent to the last bite. Take your non-vegan friends or family here, then prepare for the surprised reactions after they experience the potential of the future of plant-based food when they say...
