It started out normal. We asked how long it would take to seat a party of two and the gal at the counter said that if we reserved a spot right then, they could seat us. So we did. And then we had to wait. Which, ok fair, we waited. For a while. Then a gentleman came up and called 3 tables at once, including ours, but only seated one and they were a number after us. Then he disappeared. When we tried to ask about it, we got ignored. Until, finally, a different gal actually paid attention to us and answered our questions. Eventually they seated us. But then didn't bring any stock out for another like 15 minutes. At this point our first serving had already been put in and we were just waiting. Waited for a good long while then finally had the food brought out. There were a couple things missing. We figured it be brought out later and waited again. 25 to 30 minutes went by until my friend had to flag someone down to help us. She said she would reorder the food for us right away. Except it didn't come out, again, for another 15 to 20 minutes and it wasn't even all of what was left behind and mind you this is still just the first serving. It took them an hour and 15 mintues to complete our first serving. The gentleman who brought the last dish out plopped it down by us without even a word and briskly walked away. We were so confused as to way they were both ignoring and being extremely rude to us because we hadn't done anything other then ask ONCE if we could please have the last two items in our first serving. It put us so off that we decided to not do the second course and just leave. There was a nice bust lady who tried to fix it for us but at that point we were done being treated so aweful by the staff. It was bizarre. Not coming back. Terrible service. Only one gal was nice to us. On top of it all I started feeling nauseous...
Read moreHappy Lamb Hot Pot is an exceptional restaurant that offers a great dining experience with a variety of delicious dishes to choose from. As a Chinese hot pot restaurant, they provide many vegetarian options, and all the broths can be made vegetarian upon request. The prices are reasonable, but it's easy to spend a lot of money if you want to try a variety of dishes.
The original and mushroom broth is an excellent choice, and I highly recommend it. The fried rice, Australian lamb, lamb skewers, corn, enoki mushrooms, broccoli, and roasted leg of lamb are all incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. Additionally, the Bao lamb buns and mango juice are a must-try.
The customer service is top-notch, with friendly and welcoming servers who make you feel at home. The ambiance is simple yet inviting, which is perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends.
One minor drawback is that there can be a bit of a wait for dinner, so I recommend putting your name on the waiting list in advance. Despite this, my family and I have visited this restaurant numerous times over the last two years, and it has become one of our favorite dining destinations.
Overall, if you're looking for a simple, healthy, and delicious meal, Happy Lamb Hot Pot is an excellent choice. With its fantastic menu, reasonable prices, great customer service, and inviting atmosphere, it's no wonder why we love this...
Read moreI go here periodically-to-regularly. The quality is consistent and good; the menu is much more expansive than I have explored (I usually end up getting one of the various combination platter options because I come here for dates and group dinners, and it's an easier split), so I cannot comment on the quality of the full menu.
I love the broth options (especially the spicy broth -- I love when I get to eat things with Szechuan peppers!), and I really appreciate that they are willing to make substitutions for the fixed item menus. Occasionally I go with someone who is allergic to seafood, and they are happy to substitute extra lamb or beef for the seafood portions in the combo menu options.
Service can be a little slow, but I am never in a hurry when I eat here, so it doesn't really affect the experience. The waitstaff are friendly and courteous, they will take the time to explain how the menu works if you say it is your first time there (though it can still be a little confusing, but so can any place where you have a menu option that allows you to mark what you want and how much of it you want).
The only thing I dislike about the place is a personal idiosyncrasy: I don't like TVs in restaurants. However, that isn't ever going to change, so it's not really worth being upset over. I do often get seated in a place where I cannot see most of the TV screens, or am able to...
