Jade Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Seattle

Our group was up in the area after watching a movie late at night. We all craved some Chinese food and this restaurant happened to be open late.

The layout of the restaurant was odd. The lounge area didn't seem to be open and there were a lot of space used for storage. It gave off a very Asian homely vibe. To the right is the actual dining space and bar. There wasn't very much structure to the restaurant. It was a bit disorderly which threw us off. I don't think they keep up with the cleanliness of the place.

When it came to the food, it exceeded my expectations for Chinese American food. Based off the Yelp ratings, I did not think I would enjoy the dishes as much as I actually did. The food came out in big portions and served hot at the same time. The dishes were cooked with flavor and was pretty on par with other Chinese restaurants I've been to.

What the heck did I walk into?! If ordered through a delivery app maybe I could’ve been fooled. We were staying a couple blocks away, it’s cheaper to walk and pick up than get delivered. We saw the sign (earlier in the day) and the crowd thinking “oooh it must be good!” Ha! Little did we know the sign placement made it look like it was busy but turns out the crowd we saw was at health clinic next door. We walked in and there wasn’t any tables or any place to sit. The entrance is in a small parking lot with a hand painted “Public Parking $5” sign. The front of the building had boarded windows. Looks like a drug front. We were visiting from Vancouver and was planning to go to the Jade Garden Restaurant near the space needle but our GPS led us here instead and overall we were happy with this restaurant. Food was actually really good, the owner and staff was excellent and super friendly. I think it's mostly for take out because the restaurant itself doesn't seem like they receive a lot of in person dining guests, but nonetheless, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Next time we come here, I will ask if we can play on their two Diamond Pool tables!. I would recommend...
