Had a very odd experience here that left a bad taste in my mouth. I walked in with one other person around lunch time just for some cocktails while we waited for friends. We were sat at the bar but told they weren't serving cocktails at all, even though the guy next to us was being served cocktails. Weird, but fine, we got beers.

Then, a group of two walked in and were promptly seated and served. A couple minutes behind them was a Black couple that was immediately told "take-out only" and was not given a table. Then about two minutes later another white couple walked in and was immediately seated and served. Can't help but assume that the Black couple was refused service based on the workers (not sure if he was the owner) personal prejudice. Worth noting the restaurant was not at all busy, including us there were only 4 parties, none larger than 2 people. Overall not...

Off the beaten path in U District. Right next to the Link light rail stop. Waitress/host was solo. When # of patrons increased, she was well organized and maintained a pleasant personality and was attentive to our table. Ordered: Pork Pad Thai: Hell yeah! When can you go wrong with this? Chicken pad kee mao (aka drunken noodles) If you have never tried, this is a guaranteed flavor buster. Good herbs, flavorful and crisp sautéed veggies, sauce was flavorful, wide rice noodles were separated and folded perfect and did not stick on each other, spice was on point (3/5 spice level requested and received)

Oopsy: Pad see ew. This was originally brought to our table. I took a bite unknowing. This was great!! Sauce had a full flavor of herbs, spices, soy sauce with increased sugar. Vegetables in dish remained crisp! Try this place! Prices on par with rest of...

We went to pick up on online order to-go planning to eat outside, but it was so hot outside we asked if we could eat in. We were told an extremely rude and aggressive "no" and were swiftly kicked out. There was no one else in the restaurant and it was in the middle of their open hours. I would have loved to stay and order a drink (and obviously tip well for accommodating the change in plans). I have no idea what we possibly could have done wrong to be treated so poorly. My only guess is that we're an obviously queer couple (and my partner a POC), and they didn't want us there? Seems like bizarrely rude behavior for a restaurant in the U district. The food was bland for how expensive it was, and tasted extra bitter after being...

We visited Kai's Thai in Seattle in the U district and were not disappointed. There are so many choices of food in this area that it was difficult to decide where to eat. Im so glad this is what we chose. The service is amazing and the food is spectacular. We started with crab puffs, they were so light and fluffy but full of flavor. The sipping sauce was on point too. For dinner I had the garlic pepper sautéed chicken - highly recommend! My wife had the pad thai and my son had the basil fried rice with chicken. These were also excellent choices. We will be back when we are in Seattle again and you should check it out as well.

It seems to be impossible to have disappointing Thai in this city and I'm glad this location is no exceptions. Service is kind and prompt, but they don't have a public restroom which I found to be odd. The bar is quaint and they have outdoor seating. I ordered their specialty dishes with a tom kha, and everything was spectacular. The minced pork had the right texture and seasoning. I will be returning as it provided large portions at a reasonable price. Other reviews allude to their incredible happy hour which I have yet to try.
