Bought tickets online but still came to the front to buy snacks. The guy at the front was soooo slow and probably on something, he ran out of large popcorn bags, and also ran out of popcorn and I had to tell him to please pop more. The line was very long with how slow this guy was moving. When I got to the theatre the seats were so uncomfortable (we were in theatre 2), there were no assigned seats so first come first serve. There were no cup holders, the seats did not lean back, they were this awful texture and just gross. The rows were so close that my knees almost touched the next row in front of me. Overall not a nice movie theatre, but tickets were only 10 dollars. Snacks were very expensive and not that good.

For the price point being a student and getting a ticket for less than $10 this is an awesome theatre! It reminds me of movie theatre’s when I was a kid, it was like I was back in the 90s and early 2000s. Out of date for sure, but for $10 that didn’t matter. Chairs were comfortable enough. I saw Lilo & Stich opening day at 7pm and I was the only one there which was super strange. Popcorn and candy is also way cheeper than these other chain theatre’s.

Seems to be closed, even though I was able to purchase a ticket online for today. Half dozen people stuck in the same state of confusion.

When You go to the Varsity theater, you expect it not to be as glamorous as other theaters. But this will not prepare you for the actual theater experience. If you cannot walk stairs then you do not want to go to the Varsity theater. All theaters are at least two and sometimes three stories up. And, as far as I can tell, there aren't any elevators. When you get into the theater you will see that it is pitch black. There are no safety lights for you to walk into. This is, apparently, normal. I checked at the front desk to ask about it. The theater does not use 35 mm. All screens are digital. The sound is loud and clear. The picture is as well. The theater itself will be small with no more than 90 seats and some of them will be missing with signs on the back of it chair telling you that the seat is missing. Oh! There are no cup holders with the seats.this is important to know when you come in to a pitch black theater with your hands full of concessions. Concession prices are fair and everything tasted fresh. I don't know if I would go back to see a movie for the first time in this theater. But, the experience wasn't terrible and I would go see another movie there. Just not for...

I love the Varsity Theatre, but I'm writing this with the intention of getting the attention of the owners. In early March I went to the theater for a Friday night movie. The student discount is amazing. But the cash register malfunctioned and charged me for 11 student tickets instead of one - bringing my total to $88. The people at the register attempted to void the tickets, and believed it had been corrected - told me my refund should come through in a few business days, and gave me the theater email address in case the refund didn't come in. Well, the refund never came in. I tried multiple times to get help: I visited the theater the next week in person, and left my phone number for management after explaining the situation to the employee who was in. I tried to email the theater like I was told. I messaged the theater's facebook page, and got one response from the person in charge of their social media saying they'd pass it on to management. I still haven't gotten any sort of response, nor has my refund come in after three months. Everything else about the theater I absolutely love - but this issue has kept me from attending the theater again. I really just want...

I'm not sure why anyone would see a movie here. Free parking listed on website doesn't exist. Person behind the counter lacks a pulse. She sent me upstair to theater 2. I went in the only theater I saw upstairs and sat thru 30 minutes of previews only to find out there are two theaters on the 2nd floor and I was in the wrong one. Might she have mentioned this?? Since I had missed who knows how much of the film I wanted to see I requested a refund. But still had to pay $7 to park on the street a few blocks away. Don't waste your time or money with this theater. There are plenty of other small theaters to support that actually care about what they do and don't pay college student to sit there and hang out with their friends...
