Can't really excuse your FOH team (M with glasses and empty gauge holes & F wearing dark cami croptop both behind bar, F in dark Twilight Tshirt moving back and forth on the floor) just straightup ignoring POC folks when we've made eye contact with at least two of y'all after we approached the bar and stood by the taps for at least 10mins OBVIOUSLY waiting, you couldn't even holler a quick "hey we'll be with you"? And what's worse, your staff then pass us up for NOT one but least 2 parties of yt folks that turned up clearly after 😕 And then something similar happens AGAIN when we're trying to close the tab. Appreciate y'all being open on holiday and we expected slow/bad service but this is just uncool.

Food also too salty, otherwise lacking flavor, and none of the party finished their dinner despite only having breakfast all day. At least fries were crispy. As others reviewed before, overpriced dive bar is accurate, with service worse than...

I came to King's Hardware for a friend's birthday - none of us had ever been but it was recommended to her and I'd heard good things. We lucked out, though, with our seating situation. It was PACKED on a Saturday night and we got the last table available - and when our group grew, another group left and we magically inherited their table.

This is one of those bars that has something for everyone: it's hipster-y enough for the hipsters, dive-y enough for those who like dive bars, and has games for those who are into that (skee ball!). Also, great people watching. And dudes sitting at tables writing code on their laptops.

I can't speak for their drinks because I stuck with cheap beer all night, but the waitress definitely kept 'em coming.

I'm really interested in trying the food next time I'm here - I've heard good things and would love to come...

I love this place normally. Won't go there on the weekends since it's absolutely packed and full of the obnoxious crowd as every Ballard bar these days is. But go in during the week and staff will remember you and what you like, offer neighborhood discounts if they like ya, and play good music (or at least something one of your drinking buddies will enjoy).

It really does a great job paying homage to the old King's Hardware store. Environment is great as long as you don't mind old dusty mounted animals. Even if you do, it's easy to ignore due to the friendly/professional nature of the staff and the overall welcoming environment.

Another perk to this bar is it's attached to Rudy's barbershop. I routinely go in for a quick cut and sit at the bar while waiting to be snatched up by my barber.

Would definitely recommend as someone who...

If I could leave a "zero," I would. It's Tuesday evening at 7:15. I just left your establishment at maybe 7:02. That's after sitting at my table since 6:49, and not ONE of the servers nor the bartender looked in my direction. No cursory "I'll be right with you." Two guys in caps in the booth at the door came in FOUR MINUTES AFTER me and had brews on their table as I left. Tall Black man in a red crew sweater. Hard to miss. Well, not exactly true; Black men are not completely unfamiliar with being invisible, but it's still jarring. And no, as the picture shows, an entire section was mostly unoccupied. Wall tables and booth about 60% full. Damn shame, was looking forward to the $4.99 burger and some drinks. First time there to eat (came once to do late night). Likely the last time.

King’s Hardware is a Ballard staple. It has been here a very long time. It’s an all American classic in so many great ways. The All American burgers is a must. Husband had the After School Special which consists of bacon and peanut butter and I had the classic burger. And these come with your choice of fries or tots. Service is great along with the food. My only complaint would be the noise level out in the back! But you can sit inside or out in front along the street and not subject yourself to noisy atmosphere.

Had a farewell party for a coworker here. Even though I didn't plan it, I heard it was an incredibly easy and flexible process. Nick was our server and he was the best, I mean amazing... I think we're besties now. Tots are amazing, loved the chicken fingers and the Paloma rosa (might have repeatedly called it a Palma rosa). Yes, I just got home, so this may be the drinks talking - but I would come back again and again
