My favorite place on the hill hands down. The food is really good - prepared fresh, super creative and fun twists on Eastern European traditional offerings. The drinks are also good and it's fun to get wine slushies! They offer a selection of natural wines which is a welcome novelty. The bartenders are chatty, really friendly and very knowledgeable. The bathroom is a hoot - you gotta take a selfie in it! The atmosphere is fun, silly, cozy and relaxed. I would bring anyone here!

Went for the Walk MS fundraiser for which the owners were super generous not only with the use of their venue, but with donating proceeds. The atmosphere really made me miss living downtown. Barkeep was friendly and my wife loved the virgin margaritas. Next time I'm in town I'll be trying to go back.

I visited La Dive in Capitol Hill on two occasions, and unfortunately both experiences felt similarly hostile. As a Black person, I was particularly hurt by the service.

On my most recent visit, the bartender – a light-skinned Black woman with colored, curly hair wearing a tie-dye shirt – was openly unwelcoming from the start. When anyone in my group asked a question, she yelled, “Look at the menu,” rather than addressing our questions. The same dismissive attitude was directed toward other parties too.

What stood out was how much her service seemed influenced by appearances—how patrons “looked” or if they seemed to fit in—rather than on treating every customer with basic respect. That experience felt exclusionary and hurtful, and sadly, I’m not alone—other reviews describe similar behavior.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of background or appearance. I hope La Dive reviews their service standards so that all patrons...

As soon as my partner and I walked in the bartender was extremely extremely rude. When we went back to the bar to order he was making unprovoked remarks and seemed generally uninterested. Turned to make my drink then came back to ask for IDs, literally threw them on the bar after checking them. I told my partner not to order anything else because I didn’t want to stay longer than necessary. Ended up not touching my martini at all. And CRIED when we returned to our booth. Mind you we were both sober. Watching him interact with other patrons he seemed to be much happier so idk what I/ my partner did. We had previously had positive experiences here; but...

Okay, the atmosphere was quite cute. Outside of that, the Peru lime slushie cocktail had to be the worst cocktail I’ve ever had in Seattle (I’ve lived here for 10 years!). My friend is allergic to sesame seeds/oils, so when we asked the server if there was anything she could eat they seemed quite flustered at our ask. To make things easier, we asked if the PITA bread was something we could order. Again they were pretty flustered at our ask but said they could make it work. Y’all… This pita bread tasted like defrosted Eggo waffles. Two terrible cocktails that we didn’t finish and defrosted tasting pita bread for $32? Yeah I won’t be...
