Had to give Lil Woody's a try after being featured as Fox 13's Best Burger in Washington. That's a high bar but so glad we discovered Lil Woody's via the publication. We visited the Greenlake location for lunch. Right off the bat, the menu is pretty big, not like some other burger joints who have followed the minimalist trend. No, here at Lil Woody's you will find many menu items to keep you coming back to try something new. At least, that is what we intend to do. We had the Big Woody burger, Lil Woody, and the Cap Hill chicken burger. For sides, we went with Fries and Onion Rings. The Big Woody burger was well worth the approx $10 menu price. It was stocked full of toppings such as lettuce, bacon, pickles, onions etc. The bun was soft, I think a potato bun, and held up well. It did not get soggy. So it was a proper bun. The paper wrap on the burger also helped keep it together nice. I felt like the burger was a good value with it being so full of toppings. Patty had a nice char on it. A person could easily just eat that as a meal and be full. We didn't stop there, however. The onion rings and fries portions were huge. Way more than I expected for the money. Each onion ring and fry was cooked perfectly. There were no "crispy critters" in the basket. You could tell they put care into the frying with just the right golden brown color and consistency. We enjoyed every bite of the fries. The surprise item for us was the chipotle mayo. Man, was that good! Well worth the 50 cents! I would say Chipotle mayo should be a requirement to try if you go to Lil Woody's. In summary, we enjoyed all the items. Service was on par. We...
Read moreGreat hamburger joint! I indulged in their rotating special, a double cheeseburger with lots of sauce and fixings for $10, which is a steal around here! And it was huge! The beef was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the burger was properly messy and delicious with all components done just right, including the flavorful cheese. Mayyybe I could have had a bit more onion (they were chopped small), but I'm also an onion fiend! It was probably the right amount of onions for most people. Service was great and very friendly. I noticed that they had tons of specialty additions available as well for anyone wanting to go crazy with customizations like pineapple or peanut butter, lol. I just got the special as-is (no fries this time, so I can't comment on those) and was very happy (and am now fully in a food coma, lol). Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in a...
Read moreOverall, this is a cute little burger joint in the Tangletown/Wallingford neighborhood that adds some variety to the area. I like that they use grass-fed beef, and every week they have a burger special - this week there was a catfish burger that my friend enjoyed, but the bun fell apart so quickly that they had to inhale the burger.
I tried the Fig and Pig burger that had preserved figs, bacon and blue cheese. I was disappointed that there were no greens or fresh veggies, and despite the potential for this being a culinary delight, it was drowning in blue cheese and the preserves which made it slightly unappetizing. The fries were good - basic shoestring fries...
