Young Tea holds a special place in my heart, not just for its exceptional boba tea and extensive range of tea goods, but also for the warmth and friendliness of its owners. Since its inception in Chinatown to its current location, the welcoming atmosphere created by the owners has been a constant highlight. Their passion for tea and genuine care for customers add a personal touch that enhances the overall experience.
While I have fond memories of some of the original staff members who contributed to the shop's early charm, the spirit of hospitality and quality remains unchanged. This continuity is a testament to the owners' dedication to maintaining the essence of Young Tea. Their commitment to providing the best tea in Seattle, coupled with a sincere, friendly approach, makes every visit memorable.
As a loyal customer since the beginning, it's been a joy to see Young Tea evolve while keeping its core values intact. The combination of exceptional tea, a welcoming atmosphere, and the personal touch of the friendly owners makes Young Tea more than just a tea shop; it's a community cornerstone in Seattle's...
Read moreThis might just be my favorite bubble tea shop in Seattle. The main selling point is the quality of the milk tea itself - everyone can cook tapioca balls, after all, it's what you put them in that matters. This place uses real tea, which means that the drink is silkier and smoother than other boba shops that make their milk tea from pre-made powders. That's Boba Express, Tapioca Express, even Oasis across the street - none of those places brew their own tea.
The décor is sparse and space is a little lacking, but tables are clean, the shop is bright and well-maintained, and at $4 for the one size available, it's not much more expensive than lesser boba shops. So why only 4 stars? The ice is ground down before being put in the cup, so when you inevitably drink all the tea and need to fish for those last few boba pearls at the bottom, you're much more likely to suck up some ice. Every other boba shop I know uses ice cubes, which are a little less refined and classy but at least don't fit up boba straws. Other than that, however, everything about this place is wonderful. I'll be coming...

It took me awhile to figure out the best "mix" that accommodated to my palette. The milk tea here is slightly more bitter than places like Sharetea and Drive Thru boba, which is pretty cool since that means that you know that their tea is good! I really enjoy their tea here since the mixture between the milk & tea works very well & with 50% sugar, it's "mmmm yum". They do have a sugar syrup dispenser in case it's not sweet enough for you. My main complaint is that the tapioca is very hit or miss... sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it's too chewy/hard chewy.
Around the south Seattle area, this is my go-to place. :) Parking can be a bit stressful, since there's no parking lot. However, you could consider parking at uwajiyama, go to young tea & then check out the grocery store to get something around $7.50 for an hr of free parking!
Beware, there's usually a line and a good amount of people after dinner time (I guess you can claim that this...
