when i first came here, i was going to order my normal scoop of ice cream in a cup i actually wasn't even sure what a sundae even was
however, i decided to try out the warm brownie sundae when i saw one of my friends was also getting it wow i honestly didn't even know what i was going to get in the sundae itself it took me a while to even decide on a topping
the second i took my first bite, i was transported to heaven what's even crazier is this first bite didn't include any 'main' part of the ice cream - it was just the whipped cream! however, this whipped cream was salty, something I'd never experienced before but it was so amazing it instantly became the best whipped cream I've ever had. I don't know why the salt works so well in such a sweet food, but it manages to elevate the flavor to an entire other level that I was absolutely amazed. It's not just the salt - the overall whipped cream doesn't taste like the light, airy stuff you get at grocery stores - it had some depth to it. and we haven't even gotten to the main part of the ice cream yet!
i had no idea what to expect when it came to the strawberry coated milk crumbs, but these were the most underrated part of the entire experience they were absolutely incredible. when you hear crumbs you think of something like the size of bread crumbs, but these were larger pieces that you could actually bite into - and they had so much flavor and sweetness. the fact that these were crunchy yet flavorful added so much
the ice cream itself (i got scout mint brownie) was really good. I honestly didn't even notice the actual flavor that much due to all the other new ingredients, but this was definitely really solid. Although it wasn't as minty as I thought a mint-flavored ice cream should be, it did make up for it by tasting really good regardless - it tasted more like a mix between a really good vanilla / cookies and cream flavor. the brownie bits inside were great as well
the absolute highlight, and what truly makes this a transcendent experience, was the brownie. this was large, warm, stuffed with chocolate chips, and out-of-this-world. the chocolate flavor was truly fantastic - and the texture was hard but not very so - making scooping with the spoon dense but not like you were fighting against the surface to retrieve the inside. while the brownie was really good on its own, what truly made this all-time was being able to scoop part of the brownie and part of the ice cream in a single spoon and eat it at once. i have no words for how good this combination was. The contrasting textures between the warm brownie and the cold ice cream, the chocolate of the brownie vs the vanilla of the ice cream, the denseness of the brownie vs the softness of the ice cream - everything combined to create something truly magical
Overall, the best ice cream experience I've had in...
Read moreI must admit that i am not only disappointed, but truly confused and shocked with my experience at molly moons. I visited on a Tuesday night around 9 pm and there was a short line out the door. My sister and i abided by social distancing regulations the entire time we were waiting outside. Upon entering the store, we immediately felt pressured to decide on our order by the employee. She had never been to a molly moons before so she needed at least a minute or so to glance at the menu. I asked about the girl if they were offering samples just to double check and she cut me off before i could even finish. I did my best to try to ignore this for my sister’s sake, so we placed our orders quickly and the employee and her coworker began working on our orders. Then, i was curious about their pint availability so i asked if they had all of their flavors in pints and she again cut me off and replied with an extremeley rude and condescending tone. I also asked if i could go grab a pint and this time, her coworker jumped in and, practically yelling, told me to stay back and view the flavors from the board. Their responses made me feel as if i should have known the correct answer, or that the answer to my questions were obvious. At this point, my patience had worn off and i wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Since we were taking the ice cream to-go, I politely asked for a bag and she loudly and purposefully sighed and handed me one. I then realized we needed utensils so I asked for spoons and she didn’t respond again and instead seemed annoyed by a simple and reasonable request. We then paid and left. Now, I would like to add that i completely understand that this is a very stressful time for every member of society, workers and consumers alike. However, i am honestly still puzzled by the fact that within the five minutes that i was in molly moon’s, somehow i felt so belittled and dismissed. We as a global society are currently facing one of the biggest fights to fight, and the last thing i want to do is put others down. But i can’t ignore this situation, no matter how hard i try. I would never want anyone to experience anything remotely similar to the way my sister and i were treated at this establishment. When we got home and tried to enjoy our ice cream, I noticed that the flavors were either too sweet or not sweet enough. We shared scoops of yeti, strawberry, cookie dough, and vegan strawberry coconut. They also had essentially melted during our five minute car ride home. Simply put, it just was not the same Molly Moon’s that i thought i knew and loved. Needless to say, i will not be returning to Molly Moon’s for a while and opt to support other businesses during this pandemic. This was my sister’s first time visiting seattle so i was really excited to bring her to one of my now, previously, favorite spots...

The flavors here are incredibly imaginative. We opted for a half scoop of the seasonal strawberry shortcake and a half scoop of the Yeti — word to the wise, maximize your flavor choices with the half scoops!! The ice cream is incredibly rich and creamy, so I genuinely don’t think I could’ve finished two full-sized scoops.
The quality of ingredients is clearly top-notch, and we loved learning how it is locally sourced and ethically made. The service was friendly and the ice cream scooper let us try as many samples as we wanted before we landed on our choice.
The cutest part during our visit was when two little kids came in with their mom and ran to the freezer in the back to pick out a pint of their favorite (it was strawberry, btw). Reminded me of growing up and going with my mom to the grocery store after a good report card — though I wasn’t lucky enough to be eating Molly Moon’s back then 😂 Guess that means I’ve got a lot of scoops to...
