Very pleasantly surprised with this little unassuming place. We were one of two tables sat at around 5:30pm, so I was surprised when the host asked us if we had a reservation, but the place actually was nearly full by the time we left so I saw why she asked. Service was pleasant and fast. The food was fresh and tasty. I had the ravioli and my partner had the gnocchi. Both the glasses of wine we had were very tasty. The glasses were chilled for the chardonnay. The bread and olive oil they brought in the beginning was delicious. Cons, I wish they would have mentioned that the sparkling water was an extra 8 dollars, it was a bottle of San Pel. I wish they would have done more pre bussing, the table is small and there were definitely at least 4 to 5 employees that had walked passed at some point or another and didn't take the dirty dishes till the end after I had them all stacked and we were paying. I also wish there were salt and pepper on the table, the waiter came by and asked if we were offered parmesan or pepper after we received our meals and we had not, we were mostly finished by that point but it wasn't a problem. Overall very pleasant atmosphere, loved the decor, tasty and fresh food, friendly service and will definitely...
Read moreNolita has a charming, rustic country vibe that immediately sets a cozy and welcoming tone. The décor and ambiance give it a lot of character, and it's clearly a popular spot—it was very busy during our visit, which created a lively atmosphere but also led to some drawbacks.
The crowd seemed to stretch the staff a bit thin, and while the service was friendly enough, it was just okay in terms of attentiveness and efficiency.
As for the food, it was serviceable but unremarkable. We tried a few classic Italian dishes, and while everything was edible, nothing really stood out. Some items felt a bit underseasoned or lacking in depth of flavor. It was the kind of meal you forget soon after finishing—not bad, just not memorable.
Given how busy the restaurant was as it was Valentine’s Day, we were hoping for more, especially in terms of flavor and attention to detail. It’s possible we caught it on an off night, but based on this experience, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. Even though we had advance reservations, there were many walkins. The staff tried to fit way too many people than capacity by literally leaving less than a person’s gap between tables which...
Read moreThis restaurant is so consistently good that I had to write a review.
All of the food I have had has been excellent, from the salads to the desserts. Their menu has sections for vegetarian and vegan which makes it easy for me to know what I can pick. The staff are always friendly and willing to accommodate changes to fit your diet, even letting you change the type of pasta for a particular dish. But again, most importantly, the food is good every time.
I’ve swept the vegetarian section and each one was excellent and in decent sized portions. I hate going to an Italian restaurant and ordering ravioli to have a plate with only five ravioli show up but that does not happen here. Some of my favorites are the cacio e pepe, the fettuccine alfredo, and the butternut squash ravioli. The house salad and the spinach salads are both great with the candied nuts. All of the desserts are good with my favorite being the almond torte (moist and simply delightful) with the runner up for me being the creme brûlée.
If you love Italian food I can’t recommend this...
